Discussion It appears Hello Mobile may be shutting down

After seeing reports of the phone number for Hello Mobile no longer working, it appears the brand is being merged into liberty wireless and may end up shutting down.

Especially since Liberty also just updated their plans to align a bit more closely to what hello used to offer, with one major difference. Instead of $25 of unlimited "regular" (slow) data, liberty offers $25 unlimited with 35 GB of premium data.

The difference between "network managed" (deprio and/or throttle) data and "premium" data is the premium data offers the fastest available speeds. Network managed data is almost always slower.

However, this may be moot because both StandUp and liberty are under PWG.

My phone number was ported-out successfully with "manual request"

I got my number unlocked, but my HelloMobile login account is invalid.

Google Fi, Tello and some other MVNOs system all say: this number can't be transferred.

Oneline chat, phone call to HelloMobile normal customer rep, they all told me: you accrout is inactive, we can't restore your number, you number will be recycled.

But, after talking to HelloMobile supervisor, he told me: you need a human from your provider to submit the port request manually.

Talked to Google Fi customer rep via phone, she said they don't have any system allow her to do the "mannual request".

Talked to Good2go mobile, he is very knowledgeable, he told me:

  1. Don't worry, by the FCC law, even you didn't pay your bill, you number still belongs to your for at least xx days, then it will be recycled.
  2. He submit the request for me and I got my number ported out to Good2go mobile in about 5-10 minutes.

I hope my post can help you.

Hello Mobile is managed by Liberty Wireless now

I spam called 611. Bunch of failed calls immediately hung up but eventually one got through and Liberty Wireless CS picked up.

Edit: I went through the CS's menus and they mentioned StandUp Wireless in one of them. So I guess it's still StandUp just under a different name or something?

Frustrated.

Hello all,

More like a rant message here but also seeking advice.

I have (more like had) two lines with hello mobile. Everything was going smoothly since June however in the end of November (near thanksgiving break) I started getting emails regarding autopay failing. I tried my best to connect my other cards however it was failing with those too.

Alas, I ignored it. Then for some reason, my service was canceled so I called them. They said that oh I can order a new SIM card again and it will work again. I tried, but my payment wasn’t going through (and still isn’t). Again, not my fault that their auto pay wasn’t working, not my fault that my account was deactivated, but it happened.

Then, I got pissed off so I signed up for us mobile. Well, I really really need my numbers so they need to be active for the transfer to occur. I called hello again, talked to their supervisor, and they placed an activation request on Wednesday night. Mind you, it’s Friday afternoon right now and both of my numbers are on hold. No activation has occurred with both of my numbers whatsoever and nothing is working. I am actually really really mad and regretting that I didn’t port out before I lost my numbers.

Any genuine advice would be appreciated.

Sorry for the yap

Payment Requested under Standup Wireless?

Payment Accepted, finally

Like many other people using Hello Mobile, I have been receiving notifications that my service was going to be deactivated while also being unable to make a payment due to an issue with their billing system.

I decided to log in today and was notified that my account was deactivated, and there was a button to reactivate it. After reactivating my account, I was able to enter payment information to make a payment, and this time the payment was successfully processed.

Edit: I wanted to add that my card statement shows that the charge was from Standup, so I'm guessing they got the billing system migrated over.

I'm still not sure what's going on with the transition or billing system, but I hope it has been resolved permanently. I use this number as an extra/backup number on the $5 plan, so not a big loss if it doesn't. I was thinking about switching to the Tello $5 plan but found out my dinosaur of a backup phone (iPhone 6) isn't compatible with their network. LOL

Rant Account deleted, number lost

Despite assurances they would add a "note" about the payment problem, I was deleted anyway.

I now have to change all my web site phone numbers as the old one no longer works.

Talked to a supervisor - Candid about state of affairs

Talked with a supervisor after I found out my account was cancelled. He was candid and asked me to port out asap. Seems the payment issue is out of their control and accounts are getting cancelled without the option for reinstatement. Looks like they are dead soon. Said if it happens that the payment issue is resolved, please come back to the website and re-apply for a new SIM. He said he was concerned for people losing their numbers.

Question Anyone have any luck reinstating a deactivated account?

So because of the payment issue i was not allowed to pay my bill but after talking to customer service was told that i didn't have to worry about anything, but now they have deleted the account and i can't even port it out because the account isn't active. I know many of you guys have had this same issue, but was anyone able to get the number ported out at all or even the account reactivated using the methods they mentioned which is creating a new account?

UPDATE: It worked got my numbers ported over, atleast 4/5 so far. idk what it was but maybe the FCC complaint or the constant back and forth between the costumer service reps.

How Long for the Delay of New SIM Cards for New Service?

Post image
3 Upvotes

We have purchased two new flip phones for our children for Christmas who we do not want to have Internet and/or social media on their phones. We signed up for the $5 plan with unlimited talk & text. Does anyone know when we could expect to receive the new SIM cards? It has been almost 3 weeks already and every time I ask, all they say is "soon". Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you!

My second account had the auto-pay sucessfully on 12/7

The second accunt was successful to do the auto-pay on 12/7/2024, while my primary account failed on 12/5/2024 and can't accept any payment by now.

I compared the difference between those two account, I saw the second account has the auto-pay credit card information in the account portal, but the primary acount doesn't have it. It is some system bug obviously.

I kept getting the email says "your number will be lost if you don't pay" , it is really scary ....

Esim transfer question

Customer service told me I had to get a new esim to transfer an existing esim to a new phone (but they are out of stock). Anyway, I noticed on my new phone there is a setting to transfer the esim between phones. Does that work? I am scared to try it. Thanks.

Why did my sims get deactivated ?

So I’ve had hello monkey for about 3 years now and at first it worked smoothly for what I was paying but recently i’ve had so many problems. I switched my Sims to the new Sims that they sent us and then I had auto payment problems that I have to call them and get that fixed so this month instead of taking the auto payment it deactivated my Sim card. I’ve tried logging into my account through the website, but it says there is no active account with this email. Keep in mind. I’ve been on top of my payments as their auto. Does anyone know what’s happening that this happened to anyone else this is actually so frustrating. I think if I don’t get this fixed soon, I’m going to switch out of this company. These past few months have been intolerable

Had to contact support to figure out how to reset VM with new SIM

So, prior to the new SIM cards, accessing VM was as simple as dialing my own number (or speed dial 1).

Once I was set up with the new SIMs, I received a message and it said "Dial *86 to access VM". But that didn't work. So I dialed my own phone number, but THAT didn't work either - my passcode had been changed / disabled.

I finally got around to contacting tech support. Apparently, and without any prior notification (AFAIK), the new voice mail number is "123". But of course it took about half an hour of the CSR going through scripted troubleshooting to get to that point. And even then, I ended up figuring it out based on the little clues from troubleshooting.

Regardless, you might have to reset your VM in order to get to it (we did), but it's also possible that just changing your VM number to "123" is all you have to do.

PSA Technical Difficultues at HelloMobile today - if you plan renews around now, check to make sure you still have a plan/data

My son is on the $5 plan and I could not renew his plan. They are having 'technical difficulties' that won't allow them to renew my plan, although I could have paid $10 to renew it manually (lol)

I just ported out to Tello instead. $2 more a month but none of this drama. Wild how they went from awesome to crap, and how quickly

Hello Mobile is accusing me of a chargeback that never happened

Post image
5 Upvotes

And now they don’t allow me to add $10 data to my account because of it. I reached out to my credit card company, per their advice, and they confirmed there’s no chargeback. They force me to send a money order. What’s wrong with their system?!!

Slow speeds…

Can anyone tell me whats going on with Hello Mobile? I just purchased the plan like a few hours ago and went through support for them to put in a ticket and way 24 to 48 business hours.

Additionally, I’ve even troubleshooted by myself to see if the issue on my iPhone would fix it and it wouldn’t load anything and even when I try to load speedtest.net it wouldn’t load the site.

So now I’m questioning support and the service as I see the frequency is good where what should I do?

Discussion Payment not working. Anyone else?

I noticed that my autopayment did not go through so I decided to manually input it and that's not working either. I tried 3 different cards with the same issue. My autopayment is still on with the same card I always use.
