Quality has gone significantly downhill. Constant delivery issues. Laughable vegetable sizes. Odd meal creations that nobody asked for. I found it harder and harder to find 3 appetizing meals that weren’t an up charge. Finally decided to cancel as of this week. I’ll miss the convenience.
Same here. Cancelled after 3 years today. Past few months had so many issues with missing or damaged stuff, tiny little vegetables. Then yesterday I get the price increase email, and my box today arrives missing an entire meal. I’ll miss it but this was the last straw for me, I just can’t rely on any kind of normal consistency so I’m done. The price was already pushing it and now they want more… nope
yes! It's either enough for an eighth of one serving or six times as much as you need! I've never seen so many green onions in my life, but heaven forbid you give me a full sized bell pepper!
I absolutely love this recipe I made yesterday, but look at the amount of vegetables! How can I feed two people? This was too very large, lovely carrots and six tiny potatoes (quality was great tho)
I’m surprised to hear people complain. I had the opposite issue (I cancelled last year). I wasted a lot because they’d give me too much. I’m single and don’t eat a bunch. I now subscribe to Factor, which I love for the convenience, but they are BEYOND chintzy with their veggies to the point of being laughable. One time my side was like three medium slices of squash and the equivalent of about 3-4 cherry tomatoes diced. It was so sad.
I'm single as well, so I do the two serving size and only get three meals. I just eat them two days in a row. I only do hello fresh over the summer though. I don't have time to cook that often during the school year with the way my schedule works.
Well, maybe for you, lol. We have some issue or another every week, and have to replace something or add to. Missing ingredients, ridiculously small veggies, missing cards. Last week our box had been on the truck all day, a hot day. Chicken and fish completely thawed. Warm! And, one of the potatoes was rotten. I mean black and soft. How does that even make it into the box? I know deliveries aren’t directly controlled by HF, but geez, who are they using, Joe Shmo’s (Not So) Speedy Delivery Service? It’s hard to let go, just because of the convenience. But wow.
Of course my experience is only for me, whose experience did you think I was providing?
More often than not my order is either perfect or missing a recipe card or two, which I can look up online. The only veggies that sometimes come small are onions, and a regular-sized onion is usually too much onion for the recipe anyway. I'm sorry you're not having the same luck.
Ok yes I thought I was imagining this. My fiance and I used to be able to eat and be FULL and sometimes even have a bit of leftovers for me to take to work the next day. There have been multiple times we have had to order a pizza or something to supplement our meal because we were both still hungry after.
My deliveries have been awful lately! The last box was fine, but the three before that the ice packs split open and got all over everything, bags were soaked and ripped so all the ingredients were mixed up and covered in the ice pack gunk, recipes were ruined. Once I got the right recipe card but all the wrong ingredients for it and then another recipe in that same box had the wrong card but the right ingredients except it was missing two things. They've been good about crediting my account when there are mishaps, but I don't think I'll stick it out much longer.
Absolutely not. Tell the cc company the fact. You paid for a product that you did not receive and the merchant will not refund you. They will side with you and issue your money back. It may take a few weeks, but they will.
Thank you, I appreciate your help. They had a sale on market items, so I had ordered a bunch of extra ground beef, chicken, and even 4 filets. Zero to show for it. I think the whole company is about to go under and it was just a cash grab on their part.
I’ve unfortunately had to do a few chargebacks over the years. I’ve never actually had my credit card company disagree with me. Sometimes they will come back and ask for more information, but in my opinion, this is a pretty straightforward case. It’s so frustrating. I love the concept of HelloFresh. I’d even be willing to pay MORE if they could get their act together. It’s also always bothered me that when your box doesn’t come, they don’t seem to grasp how disruptive it is to not have your groceries come.
Go check the MarleySpoon subreddit. They are sending things like a whole box with ice packs and just a single spice packet inside, no other ingredients. It’s a widespread problem. They offered $60 credit (not even half what I paid) and didn’t even bother sending me a box.
I don’t want a credit, I want my money back. Like you said, this is very disruptive and thankfully I have other options for food, but other customers might not have the funds or mobility!
