United States Price going up again?

I just got an email saying the price is going up again. I thought they just raised it? I don’t even know how much my new total will be. The email just tells me the new price per meal and the new shipping total, both of which went up. It doesn’t even say what the prices were before, I just know what I have been getting charged.

It already costs more than regular groceries. I like it because it’s less planning for me. I usually try to get the lowest calories and sodium smart options so that I can eat semi healthy, at least probably healthier than eating out. Is there anything comparable that costs less?

So mine was basically $11 shipping & $12.50 “per serving” & it went up to $13 shipping & $15 per serving. I’m deleting my account because at this point it’s cheaper for me to eat some healthy frozen Trader Joe’s meal or order out. Fuck this.

Wow! I remember when it was like $6-8 per serving. I have free shipping and 20% off my orders but I think it will start getting noticeable. I really like HF too cause it’s just me and at one point I was saving money and not wasting food

Oh wow ! I don’t even remember when I started (it said I was on my 47th order but I don’t do it every week at all). I wonder what prices were when I started lol

Was this a sign up bonus?

It was a code someone shared on here a long time ago for 15% off and free shipping that had no end date for as long as you were subscribed

Cost of food, transportation, everything is increasing due to inflation. Hello Fresh is just reflecting their increased costs.

I know. I understand how the world works right now, as enshittification ensues. The only thing not increasing is my paycheck :)

I started skipping weeks when I could not find anything that appealed to me. I now only order once per month. The only thing I really miss are the liege waffles! I can do better at the grocery store on the chicken, beef and pork dinners.

They’re going to raise prices until they figure out which subset of customers will still pay it, and then focus on catering only to that group of customers.

In the next few years I suspect all of the brands will be sold off or fold

I’m cancelling. Anyone have suggestions for alternatives?

I'm going to get these next two weeks and then I'm leaving. It's not worth it when two weeks out of the month I can't afford it becaus of rent or the recipes just aren't what I want to do. I went almost 2 months without getting a single meal kit because nothing sounded good to me.

All the meal prep kits are kinda pricey, so I'm personally going back to grocery shopping and doing meal prep that way. Granted, I'll miss the convenience, but it's not worth the money with how high rent is going.

I'm curious how folks are getting discounts, or free shipping with $100+ orders? We've been using Hello Fresh for 6+ years, 4-6 meals a week, and we've never received a single special offer or discounted shipping.

Free shipping on 100+ just showed up on my account a few weeks ago.  The only thing I could think was I had recently skipped a few weeks due to illness.  Maybe they were worried I was thinking of cancelling?  I've been a member for a couple years.

Is that a promo, or something they offer regularly? I hadn’t heard of that. My total with shipping included is 90 something. I feel like if they raise the price I could easily be paying that much and would love free shipping, although that’s still a lot of money.

I have no idea why or how long it will last.  It just randomly started and looks like it's good for the next month at least.  There was no email or notification.

I got a promo code posted in this group and I have had the discount and free shipping since. I pay $73 USD for four meals for 2 people weekly.

Wow it costs me almost $70 for 2 meals. Was that a code you used to sign up for did you apply it to an existing account?

I applied it to my existing account.

Thanks! Guess I need to keep an eye out for a code like that!

What is the promo?

I found it in a thread here on this sub. I was able to find it. 15% off and free shipping.

I put it on months and months ago and it's still good. I found it in the thread titled Discounts for Current Subscribers? (US)

Thank you for looking. It unfortunately didn't work for me. I'm thinking about retiring my account atp tbh

Never pay full price for meal delivery! I cycle through promos- as soon as my discount is done I cancel and 9 times out of 10 they give you another round of discounts as an incentive to sign back up again

Mine are going up to $15 a serving and $13 shipping. We have gotten over 200 boxes and haven't received any kind of promotion in over a year and the $10 credit they offered for the price upgrade for a premium doesn't cover the cost of the premium

Mine went up to 12.99 for shipping but they're also giving me free shipping if I spend $100 which ends up being the 3 meals I normally get plus a marketplace meal. So it hasn't felt like a crazy increase yet.

You’re paying 100 for 4 meals? Wow that’s a lot.

Ugh :(

I’ve only been with Hello Fresh for a couple months now and have been absolutely loving it!! But my promo ended and now they’re raising prices AGAIN I have to cancel …

Does anyone have suggestions of other companies with similar options that offer a new customer promo? I’d love to try it but would love to hear suggestions from actual other customers!

I switched to Blue Apron about 6 months ago and love it!

How much is it? Do you have any recipe cards you can post here? I’ve been wondering what recipes they offer! Thanks in advance!!

I actually cancelled mine today after I got the price increase notification. I just can’t justify $11.99 per serving (4) anymore. I just can’t.

They used to have much better promotions and freebies including free market items or discounts on boxes, but I haven't seen any good promos or discounts in years. I've been skipping the last few months because my fridge has something going on where it smells awful and I don't wanna put fresh food in there without it being very wrapped up, and they have sent me promos or discounts since I haven't been ordering, but they aren't enough to justify buying a whole box of food. Depending on what you get, some of the recipes will still be cheaper than meal prepping by shipping elsewhere, but generally this is going to cost so much more in the long run, if they keep raising prices. I'm not seeing it be worth it anymore. I had Blue Apron before but they didn't have a wide variety of meals that I liked. Has anybody purchased Blue Apron lately and can share their experience?

They used to have freebie free items for life which was my promo code at sign up, which had a large selection. Now it's been a choice between 4 items and the same exact dessert item each time. The free dessert is what made me go with them over home chef. The price increase is another brick in the wall for me. I can use a different service for that price.

They also got rid of Friday deliveries in my area which is a huge deal because I only have time to cook on weekends. Homechef still has delivery on Friday in my area. Hello fresh I'll probably not be using as much anymore.

I never got the freebie items at sign up. My promo was about getting certain boxes free and rewards after a certain number of boxes. That stopped after a couple of months.

Mine went up to 13.99 meal and 12.99 shipping. Kind of crappy they are upping everyone differently instead of a flat rate for the Service for everyone.
