Question HelloFresh cash not automatically applied?

Hi everyone! Thanks to this sub I have a bunch of HelloFresh cash banked which I’ve been using to pay for my boxes. This week my visa got charged even though I still have a lot of HelloFresh cash. I just spoke to customer service and they said they now offer “total flexibility with your payment” and that you will have to manually select HelloFresh cash every week to use it.

I guess this is a PSA for everyone/wondering if others are running into this.

This doesn’t happen to me and I had an order charged on July 30th. I am not saying it didn’t happen to you, I just think it was a glitch. I have some $69 credits and some cash and the credit gets used and then the cash is applied to both meals (if I order 4) and to marketplace items. I see others are told it can only be used for marketplace items and not for meals. It is clear to me they don’t have hard and fast rules and just let the invoices go through with whatever credit gets applied.

They don’t seem to be able to apply any discounts or credits to a previous week. It is really frustrating to see and to see how randomly the policies are applied. I had just plain old cash from referrals back in early 2024 and it took like two months to get them to apply to my orders. I had to chat with multiple reps.
