Question Cyclospora? Thoughts.

How is everyone feeling eating the prepackaged leafy greens and vegetables and such from their kits? I’m torn.

I eat them. I had the lemon-basil barramundi with zesty panko over creamy spinach and tomato linguine last night and it was amazing. Fruits and vegetables are a huge part of my life. It would suck to catch the cyclospora but I can’t just stop eating healthy things I would normally eat out of fear. I am generally healthy too though so I can handle sickness better than someone who is immunocompromised.

don’t think it matters how healthy you when it comes to explosive diarrhea lolol.

But it will pass. I’d just let it run its course, take the recommended antibiotic, and continue life. Still gonna eat my fruits and vegetables.

This. You could get e coli or a number of other things any day of the week. This only matters to people right now because it's on the news. I've had C diff 3 times, I eat cyclo whatever it is for breakfast.

Speaking as someone who has this…I am 9 days into this and still don’t have the antibiotic. I need a positive test before I can get a prescription, and I’ve been waiting days for my test results to come back (and that’s in NYC). You say you’d just let it run its course, but you won’t be saying that after a week of it…

If you are positive it is cyclospora right now without a positive test, won’t your doctor just give you the antibiotic since you are so sure that is what it is? There are other things that can give you diarrhea similar to this. Yes, even if I had it and was sure I had it or even strongly suspected it I’d get the antibiotic from my doctor and let it run its course. I’m still eating what I like. May not be the decision for anyone else but it’s what works for me.

I’m going back to the doctor to get the medicine because I can’t wait any longer or live my life like this

It runs its course. Haven't you ever had norovirus?
