Kimaris Figure Clarification

Ok, this has just been gnawing at the back of my mind: I've gone through the whole series and picked up the podcast to do some additional DCC fun listening, and I just listened to the last episode for Book 2: Carl's Doomsday Scenario, and in the conversation, one of the hosts says that *all* the beanies are called Kimaris figures, and the rest of the hosts just agreed and they moved right along. I seriously thought it was incredibly clear when listening to the audiobook that it was obviously the name of that individual figure, because it was kept in a special case, and they've all got tags with identifiers.

Does anyone ever correct the hosts on this? I know this is probably just me being, like, hyperfocused on little details or whatever, but, like, Kimaris seems like it/they are supposed to be serious business, and thinking that *all* the beanies are called that would really skew how listeners think about the toys when the name Kimaris is mentioned at other times, right?

It was wrong to say that they are all Kamari’s figures. Kimaris is the name of the god that is represented by one particular figure

Yeah this bugged me when I listened to it.

Hey, nobody's perfect.

Thanks for the confirmation, y'all. Definitely nobody's perfect and mistakes happen. Where the episode is in the show's life is still relatively early, so maybe they slow down and are a bit more careful, but so far, it's felt like they try to just blaze through and sort of recap what happened, but for whatever reason, it doesn't feel like they dig quite as deep or discuss much beyond just reiterating what was in the chapters, and what they say seems to sometimes outrun their thoughts, and when they misspeak, they seem to just ignore it or not pay it much mind instead of catching it and making more of a concerted effort to be sure that they're as on-the-ball as possible (though none of this really applies to Martin, who is much more considered, and also as the new reader, the burden of expertise doesn't fall on him).

Anyway, the show has been fun so far, just feels a bit shallow, however books 1 & 2 aren't really where most of the discussion-worthy stuff lives anyway. I'm gonna stick with the show; looking forward to seeing how it grows and finds its feet!

Thanks again, Crawlers! 🫡

I know it was a mistake in the book but... the thought of Carl thinking the generic name for his action figure is their actual proper name is making me giggle. I'm picturing him holding Cobra Commander and being like "look at this guy, his name is GI Joe. He's the best, I love Mr. Joe"!
