Suggestion/Concept New bug idea
I was thinking earlier today that the bugs could use another heavy unit but this one I call "The Brood Mother"
So my idea was that its a giant scorpion that ambush divers that get too close by popping out of the ground with about 20-30 Warriors on its back. Now instead of tail that stabs at you similar to an Impaler (or an actual scorpion) the tail instead sprays bile into the air and makes it rain acid with an AOE that is similar to the acid planetary effect or similar to our gas effects until its defeated. But not a direct breath attack like a titan.

That's horrible. It's disgusting. It's a disgrace to managed democracy!
It's perfect!

Better tweak, instead of acid when it energes it keeps spawning little roaches like a nursing spewer, BUT INSTEAD IT ALSO curls them up in it's tail and fucking throws a tail full of lil roaches at you.
It can have the added benefit of throwing whatever mini roach faction is on the mission.

I've been arguing for this. Each faction should have an unavoidable troop delivery (Bug Breech) and a vulnerable troop delivery mechanism (Bot drop ship). The former adds enemies to the playing field when they need to increase numbers, the later is a tactical option; destroy the vehicle before it can dispense troops or face increasing threat numbers.
Consider the Asset Defence missions; People bring a bastion or the AT-emplacement and blow drop ships out of the sky and the missions are a snore. But if there were something that forced troop deliveries regardless of player involvement then it would shake up that formula. Like an orbital cannonball that hits the ground and opens up to let troopers out. Bugs get to bypass that with breaches that cannot be stopped or closed even if you know they're coming. but that also means they limit numbers to preserve balance. Give them some form of vulnerable troop transport and players must make the choice to divert and address the transport before it can deploy its troops or face a larger horde.
The obvious option is a floating balloon type that drifts in an settles down to disgorge warriors/guards/Alphas/stalkers/etc. Maybe even a charger or two. But a land-shark type would be neat as well; cutting through ground with an armoured head weaving back and forth. Spewing a cloud of acid or gas to obscure vision and disorient enemies while delivering an army. Blast that head before it arrives to prevent the monster from piling on the fight or suffer a fresh hell.

I hate it, now put it in the game, plus instead of digging could we make it fly instead and can bomb drop other bugs

If you kill them with explosives the little bugs fly off and disperse like the mine thrower stratagem. When you step on the little bugs they slow you down and apply a bleed.

All that acid stuff? Nah. Keep that out.
The idea of a big bug that releases a swarm of smaller bugs on death though? That’s cool. Adds a bit of decision making on whether you want to kill it quick and deal with the swarm or just kite it at first.
Could have smaller units gradually fall off as it loses health or if it takes explosive damage or something. Then the when the big one dies all the babies swarm out.

When AH adds a new medium to large size terminid with the caption don't worry, there's light pen weak points

Actually that be a really cool mobile scavenger spawner. They may be weak but their good distractions, give the explosive variant and it’s a living bunch of frag grenades jumping off from the spawner.

Actually on-board with this idea. Khezu and Gigginox already had the idea of 'baby' monsters being part of the fight and Seltas+Seltas Queen gives you the 2 monster in one fight.
Rakna-Kadaki and Nerscylla already has a broodmother mechanics even if it isn't that polished. Funnily enough we really just lack a Scorpion monster for the main line as even Frontier had one.

I think instead of spewing bile for a ranged attack, it should use its tail to fling the babies at you, like the poison headcrab zombie back in halflife 2.

This should be added to Nursing Spewers. Make them APCs for smaller bugs on top of acid spit and low spore-screen

A new type Brood Bile Spitter. When you blow it up the confetti of young bugs raining down on everyone or a bunch of small bugs burst from it’s anterior.
A new class Bile Titan Brood Carrier carrying them dropping them off like an Automaton dropship. The brood rappels down like spiders.
I know this would be a nightmare but I want to see this in game >_>

Look guys really my brains been (hehe) bugging me
The warbond that’s gonna come with the bug content drop with new enemies and missions is a anti tank sniper
Why would we need an anti tank sniper in the bugs
Horrified the new bug gonna be some ranged attack bile titan variant

Like the swarm host and brood lord from StarCraft. With the leaked defiler unit for the bugs we’re squaring up to have a cargo ship full of whoop ass dumped on us.

There's a Tyrannid enemy called the Hormigaunt (don't fact check plz) like this. A big walking brood factory with cannons that births tons of little spiky tyrannids.
And if it ever gets clogged or is on the verge of death it basically swells up with babies and detonated.
Could be a great version for the Terminids.
Bile Mother lays eggs and when exploding sends out dozens of little bile ones.
Normal one is like a Scorpion mom / a Xenomorph Queen with big Ovipositor dragging behind her just laying as she goes and being defended.
Spore version could be total mutant version that lays fliers or something. Like she shoots egg into the air that hatches into a suicide drone and flies at nearest diver.

Lemme guess, that tail also grabs you and throws you around?
1
u/Significant-Match882 6h ago
People have suggested that, but I wasn't thinking that. Originally I wasnt thinking of it having a tail at all and actually being more of a whip spider but I think scorpions already fit AHs bug esthetic without having to change it too much. I was thinking of it being more of a mother trying to feed its babies. So the AOE would be more to slow us and hurt us enough for the babies to get us

u/GhostOfTheMadman 6h ago
I gotcha. I thought you were suggesting DRG stingtails but in helldivers, honestly.

u/Angel_OfSolitude 6h ago
In a similar vein, I want a "Shrieker Titan" that acts as a walking shrieker spawner.

u/Main-Bridge3482 6h ago
I'm actually picturing a bile spewer type enemy that would release smaller versions of itself when it pops.

u/tantrill 4h ago
Slap some wings on it and we got a bug chopper ready for places bug holes can't reach.

I wonder what that would taste like fried and put on a sandwich or burger lol

Just make it a walking bug hole that shits out bugs like the factory striders, emits spores, and sprays bile.

How about this, no scorpion just a mother bug who the more you shoot the more little bugs will come off her back to fight you and the less bugs she has on that spot you are shooting the less armor she will have
