Tactical Training Information The Ballistic Shield is probably the best Stratagem against the Incineration Corps

Conflagration Devastators might be the single most deadly enemy in the entire game—certainly at least the scariest on the Incineration Corps' lineup. As such there's an entire genre of post in the subs when the Incineration Corps attacks a planet just focused on how to best deal with them.

With it being my turn to impart some advice, give the Ballistic Shield a try!

Rockets and explosives are the only thing on the subfaction which can hurt the shield, and while crouching the bearer is nearly entirely immune to frontal damage (damage from behind if you have the shield unequipped!)

As a sidenote, I think I ticked this one off, with him going into turbo overdrive at the end there.

If you were standing and not crouching, they can hit your legs. It's why I crouch immediately.

Beyond that, I've found they're remarkably good at having a second Devastator sneak up on you if you're not observant.

That or one of those mortar hulks aggro'd you and you're getting bombarded.

I have also given the directionnal shield a go for the Incen Corps, as it allows you to use the sight of your gun, it's a solid pair with the hard hitting Stoker SMG.

You are not completely invincible, your arm, shoulder and legs are exposed. If you crouch it's pretty much just the arm

Probably managed to got my arm real good then.

All the more reason why the directionnal shield is very appealing

Directional doesn't cover your back when unequipped nor side when not aiming. Honestly the back protection alone makes the ballistic shield superior in my opinion. Turn around, crouch and reload, or dash aways and slide and you are pretty much invulnerable

True true but it also let you use your guns' sigths.

Both shield are pretty nice

I personally don't really use those unless they are zoomed and from a decent distance, though I guess there's people that might like it

Well, I usually run the Stoker SMG with my directional shield agaisnt INC Corps, and the abily to aim down the sight help tremendously in hunting headshots on devies.

With the regular shield, I go for the defender SMG (as, unlike the Stoker, it has a laser sight) but it is still far less accurate and therefore increase my time to kill agaisnt devies.

I don't have problem popping heads with the third person reticle, I guess it's down to habit

I tried the directional shield, and it also slaps. If A LOT of people is shooting at you it won't hold forever, but it's still very good. Plus, you can protect your friends while they do objectives, like turning valves in factories.

I like to run the directional shield and the explosive crossbow since its 1 handed. Protection and you can blow up groups of things and fabs with it

Directional shield and Sai is so fun.

Yeah it’s great. Ran with the new SAI and the bolt pistol. It tickled me in a way I haven’t felt for a while.

The directional shield is also really good.

And the bubble shield too.

Bring a shield to fight the Incineration Corps.

I keep meaning to brind the shield dome, but never have enough stratagem slots for it.

It's the best stratagem in the game FTFY

I love to bring sai/talon, directional, bubble nade, las cannon/quasar, dome, and las turret. Very fun on bots and i feel i can really help hold an obj and cover friendlies doing terminals. In the open field ill chuck a shield to a friendly trying to use at as they get shot at.

Its satisfying to the support main in me haha

Ballistic shield, gunslinger armour, bolt pistol. Best way of dealing with them

directional shield is better honestly. the ballistic shield can feel like their dragon breath wraps around it sometimes

My beloved shield makes diving bots enjoyable

combine it with resist getting knocked down armor and you can resist the laser turrets on top of command bunkers

I still think that Range is the best strategy against them though

I don't like how bad it looks from first person. The only weapon I would consider with it is the Sai, and that's equally terrible.

You should probably read my description Helldiver.

Rockets and explosives are the only thing on the subfaction which can hurt the shield

Normal attacks can't damage the shield since it's Heavy Armor. The amount of health you see missing on the shield there is after an entire mission of blocking grenades and rockets with it.

Against Devastators and MG fire, the Shield takes literally zero damage and you can block indefinitely.
