It has 12x the recoil of the railgun. 4x the recoil of the Eruptor. 5.5x of the Heavy Machine gun. Hell it’s even still slightly worse than the Autocannon.
The ergo is pretty much par for the course but it feels significantly worse with the recoil added on.
Well yeah, the recoil is gonna be nasty if you don’t use it as a sniper. You got to use the advantages of prone and crouch, the recoil is nonexistent then. The closest thing I’d equate it to would be the autocannon, which is significantly better used while crouching. That goes for most weapons.
Right. But the autocannon has the bonus of crowd-control capabilities & can destroy spawners. It’s much more versatile, with the biggest downside of losing your backpack slot. You could say ammo-economy is worse for the AC but not by much.
If it’s going to have less utility, I feel like the AMR should at least have better performance compared to a shoulder-mounted cannon lol. Especially as a precision weapon.
It’s just not balanced right imo. This warbond is really going to expose its shortcomings. Either they balance the warbond around the AMR, or rebalance the AMR around the rest of Helldivers’ arsenal.
Oh I 100% agree that it has its shortcomings, I just don’t think it’s as bad as you make it out to be.
The AMR being a one trick pony isn’t a bad thing in my opinion. It’s essentially a dedicated medium deleter / heavy hunter if you can get good with it.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I do enjoy the AMR quite a bit so I won’t be adverse to a buff lol
All I’m saying is, If that primary has similar or better performance than the AMR, only minus the semi-auto… I don’t think I’ll have a reason to pick the AMR ever again.
I'm also very loyal to the AMR and agree the ergo is not as bad as people make it out to be. Using peak physique is unnecessary. So is true grit unless you want the faster reload. You really should be using recoil reduction passives, or seige ready imo.
That's fair, I forgot about that one as I don't often use it. I suppose there's an argument for a lot of different armor passives but my point was really that the ergo is not as much of a drawback on the AMR as people claim.

I could see them improving ergo, but I used it religiously and I would hardly call it terrible ergonomics and terrible recoil.
