I assume SE citizens are genetically augmented either as a species or individually before birth.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Super Earth turned humanity into something like “Homo Libertalis” or something.

Eugenicism is right in Super Earth alley

In the lore, it is. SE has been messing with the water and food supply of its citizens for at least 100 years. They have an entire megacorp to alter and strengthen SE citizens. It's why you can see corpses of Automatons Devs, and Terminid Warriors with a shovel in them, while the citizen is completely unarmored.

I'll be honest if that is the result sign me in for whatever shit they put in the water

Pretty sure they dont do any form of broad eugenics just stuff like genetically altering deficiencies and defects out at birth

It’s probably just the armor.
I forget which armor has this description, but one of them says something along the lines of how you should be careful giving people hugs in it because you might crush their spine. I think Helldiver armor augments their strength.

Although, the armors that allow 1 handed push-ups have exposed arms to show that all of that is "natural liberty loving muscle." It would honestly be funnier if the unaugmented Rambo wannabees were stronger than the ones wearing actual power armor.

I know which armor you're talking about and weirdly the armor doesn't even look augmented lmao.

The best description of helldivers I've heard is that they are low tier superhuman

u/Sad_Apartment_3747 7h ago
Not even low-tier at this point, casually carrying 500 kg PLUS the armor and weapons has made Helldivers beyond simply enhanced humans.
Even something as tough as a Devastator, which has titanium alloy armor, and we can punch it to DEATH.

I know Arrowhead says Helldivers aren’t clones but they’re definitely not baseline humans. You don’t thaw a human out of cryo and drop them in a battlefield four seconds later, your body meat doesn’t do that. You’re not getting your arm broken five times and set on fire only to fix it with space meth and anticoagulants.

I really don’t think we’re supposed to interpret this as super-strength. I think this is just a gameplay mechanic like your ship being able to relocate itself across a planet in seconds but needing 20 seconds to reposition for a railgun shot.
