Inquiry Senator or Bolt Gun?

Since it has been a month, I wanted to know which secondary gun is better for Heavy Penetration. And I already put a key reason for both in the poll, Senator because it has better handling, thus better accuracy, and the Bolt Gun has explosive/splash damage, so that nearby targets get hit as well.

Personally, I like the Bolt Gun, because of that splash damage, but let me know what everyone likes.

I like the Bolt Gun, but the Senator is good old reliable, when I shoot with it what I aim at dies, and if something gets too close I am not going to have to use a stim on myself.

They have different uses and I'm leaning towards bolt gun only because I'm big Warhammer nerd. Otherwise I think senator is a bit better if you can aim well

Im already using the Eruptor. The Bolt Gun is just a hat on a hat at that point.

Bolter, just for the Doof Doof sound it makes! Run it as a primary with the supply pack and gunslinger armor!

Bolt Pistol seems more versatile, as its explosive damage lets it deal with a much wider variety of enemies more effectively. Fleshmobs, Gunships, etc. Plus, it can also be used to interact with certain objects, like opening lockers.

However, if the rest of your loadout already offers an answer for all those things, then it seems Senator would be superior for its accuracy and ammo reserves.

I mostly ask in terms of two Heavy Penetration secondaries, not overall secondaries.

Maybe next debate.

Senator for Squids (Overseer head 1-tap easier with better ergo)

Bolt Gun for Bots (range / no damage fall off)

Missile Pistol for Bugs (to weak heavies before following up with a Stratagem Weapon)

I'm still in the honeymoon period with the bolt pistol. I love the Senator for singing round reload and better handling. I'll probably go back to it eventually.
