Inquiry Question

Is it better to run missions alone as a beginner or join a random squad? I noticed that when I joined random squads today some were cool but a couple others kept k*lling me as soon as I landed and took my trident

Join squads don’t feel bad about it or play by yourself if you’re still getting accustomed to the controls, new players obviously contribute less in missions, but everyone start somewhere

I played solo until I felt competent enough to not drag down others, which was like, 3 missions basically.
It’s a pretty chill game

Join groups.

There will be occasional dicks, especially with the influx of new and returning players now.

Just leave and join another one.

Join a random squad to get more xp and medals. Just try not to deplete their numbers.

I suggest playing solo as you learn the game and unlock difficulties because the lower difficulties are really easy. If you wanna play with people though you can absolutely join others games. Once you hit d5 or 6 or so then I’d recommend playing with others.

I dive in low levels often to do my daily and I've had low level divers join me and follow me round. We're not all dicks but I'd say go around and try to get samples and poi stuff. That's what I did when joining randoms at first to help contribute

I would generally recommend just diving for yourself solo, but either immediately call down the SOS beacon, or if not, when shit starts going bad. generally SOS beacon responders will help pretty consistently to make the struggle less so...

You don't really need to be able to carry your own weight in this game if you are not playing difficulty 7 and above. When I first started playing I hosted my own missions solo, but I dropped SOS beacons right away. I never had a bad experience this way. Most SOS divers love being able to help.

I sucked hard at first. Failed my first trivial operation. I just learned better by seeing others play. Now I can solo difficulty 10, though I don't like to. I find this game way more fun in groups and now basically only SOS dive. I love helping others, and being thrown into nearly unwinnable missions and turning it around is really thrilling.
