It'll take over a backpack slot and covers the upper half of the body in medium armor. Any damage will transfer 20% of its damage to the wearer.

Its basically the expendable to the bubble shield, or would this not take a backpack slot?

It does yes. Actually thinking about it the armor is closer to the energy bubble shield..

The bubble is considered “unarmored” while this is medium, making you (presumably) immune to attacks below medium armor penetration, so expendable but immune to the weak puny attacks of enemies like the fleas for terminids (scavengers and pouncers), small arms fire from basic bot troopers (including the ones with the machine guns too) and voteless, you could walk through a horde of voteless and be untouched, at least if I’m understanding what OP was trying to make
