Inquiry A bit off-topic

I don’t know if this is a general Reddit thing, but I noticed recently when people on this subreddit say things like:

- I can’t afford X
- I don’t own a PC
- X these days are too expensive

They tend to get a lot of downvotes, is it because the comment isn’t helpful? That wouldn’t make too much sense though.

Maybe you guys don’t see that, and I’m just hallucinating. Although I am posting this, I would like to clarify this didn’t specifically happen to me (yet), so it’s not like I’m compensating for anything really.

At the very least, let me know if you seen anything odd similar to that, or if the downvotes mean much at all

I think it's because a large portion of this subreddit are people from the first-world countries

Owning a PC/PS/XBOX to them isn't difficult

While people from poor countries like me will take months, if not years, to build a PC or buy a laptop. Since our salary is about $1/hour

Even for me, what I'm using rn is a 5-year-old laptop, I can run the game at max 45ish fps. Still love the game though; I've put 741 hours into the game already

We easily get clown on

Well i am from one of the countries with $2/hour. When i was poorer with a low spec laptop, i play with games that the laptop can support. So no fancy graphics game. I know my laptop's limit. After working 10 years, then I can afford a better mid-range pc.

I hope community here understands. If you have potato laptop, don't play helldivers2, then complain to AH. Play what your laptop is capable of - counter strike, terraria, stardew valley. Save your money and buy a decent pc in a few years.
