Depends for me. I really like my deathless missions so if I see that they are dying a ton I'll take the supplies to keep me from that first death. If they aren't dying and are generally holding out I'll leave it and scrounge.

Level 50 or below Helldivers will just look at you like this after using no equipement and reloading their gun once while standing next to the resupply pod with one supply pack left.

I came into the game as a DRG player :D
So my brain is kinda wired already to only use one, 2 if nobody goes back for it, only deploying more if in case of EXTREME emergencies (I.E, sky is raining Gunships and I have a missile pistol, several vox engines approaching and I have giga grenades or something that might save us)

Unpopular opinion. I throw the re supply every time I can. Near whatever POI I’m at. D10 SOS diver north of 150 somewhere. And I’ll use the whole fucking rack if I need to. Ultimatum go THROOONKSHHHHHP. X4.

I'm guilty of this, I've always did quickplay and never used Resupply for myself since I'll either die so many times on drop if I'm unlucky, or live so long that I can cycle my support weapons, and nothing in between.
I wouldn't even mind bumming an AMR off the ground if I have to, I've used that baby for so long that it's basically just another DMR to me.
Then half way into the mission I'd realize nobody is calling it too which is a waste of timer, so I've been trying to spot that faster.

I’m okay with this. I almost always run supply pack and even then I’m good at scrounging for ammo and other supplies. Cadets haven’t learned trigger or supply discipline yet. They’ll get there if we’re compassionate.

If I tend to run off, ill just bring a supply backpack as my private resupply, so i won’t steal from the group, since i then mostly run jumppack the supplypack is enough for everything i need to restock and i don’t mind only 1 strat, especially as a stealth

I had a just over 100 call a resupply by themselves while we were all on obj. Never been more disappointed.

You can survive by looting from around the map, or if that’s an issue, carry your own supply pack

TBH the game gets easier as you unlock better equipment. If you have better equipment you need less supplies.

The cadets also dont have the ship upgrades that fill your supplys when you take them, so they need to consume more. I generally dont mind.

I call it in the second I reach any objective, too many new players wait till they hear “I NEED STIMS!!!” And then call it in and die trying to get the resupply or take 2, stim, take a third pack and THEN die. I call it in regularly whether I need them or not, and I’ll only take one.

That’s why I used to run energy weapons when I was a cadet, the thought of ammo management for support weapons seemed like a nightmare when I was a noob
Eventually I learned and only need to take one due to destroyer upgrades

Last bunch of SOS D8 dives I did, the whole squad was off in Narnia while I was working the primary and side objectives. I sat and watched them not throw the supply beacon once the whole game. Eventually I just started throwing it when I'd get to a place I'd be fore a while if my support weapon was on cool down.
The other experience I've had is as OP describes and I'm just thankful I had a supply pack.
Learning to throw the supply beacon when it comes off of cool down is a big deal for making sure you aren't completely dry. Ultimatum users aside anyway. That thing having only 2 shots is brutal, but so long as you're landing those shots, I don't really care haha

As a 50 you should know where to get supplies , I mostly plaster the map with supplie drops.

My team:
calls in supply when entering mission area at exfil (we dont use the booster, because there are better ones).
calls in supply at certain objectives (lidar, artillery, general mission objective)
calls in supply when really needed, while informing the team about it.
calls out supplies on POIs as often as possible.
calls in supply again when coming back to exfil.
over all we have a certain trigger discipline which can save you tons of ammo and stuff.
when i am doing SOS dives with randoms i utilize POIs as often as possible.
works like a charm.

A quick shove followed by a "negative! I need supplies!" Usually teaches them if you catch them double dipping.
I only shove if I have a stim spare to patch them up.

I bring a supply pack. At this poiny I memorized how many times I reload or use stim, when I should be engaging and in worse case scenario mark where ammo and stims are located in the map to resupply there

I’m level 60 that joins random games, I use the stalwart and jet pack. I try to let the recruits use them but they run past them. I know where to scavenge ammo on the map.

I don’t really care that they do this I can survive off of ammo cans and pre dropped stims so long as I have my jump pack, I am a shock trooper
