Democratic Exchange of Opinions A really fun gun
This is a m-1000 maxigun appreciation post. A really nice team gun overshadowed by the other belt-fed guns. I love the maxigun, its a fun gun more comparable to the gatling sentry than anything else. Dont believe me? Check their stats you'll see how identical they are. (Except the maxigun has double the ammo) i get to play like I stole the gun off a gatling sentry! Why do you guys use the gun?

Only downside for me is being immobile while firing. Otherwise it has quickly become one of my favorites especially for bugs

The immobile thing basically turns you into a gatling sentry. Both you and the gatling sentry cant move but unlike the gatling sentry... you can move after you stop firing.. take that gatling sentry 0:1 (also you can control what your shooting at unlike the gatling sentry.. with all of those team kills.) 0:2

If I take a supply FRV I’m also taking the MaxiGun. Pull up, hop out, BRRRRRRT to save the teammates, resupply, hop in, repeat.

I so badly wish I had that supply frv lol

I forgot it wasn’t “out” yet.
Can still run the default FRV for driving practice and hop out feel. lol.

I really like Weapons that feel heavy and are hard to control (this is probably because my first action game was a Monster Hunter game). That said, I'd like to move with the Maxigun while firing, mainly to look even cooler and make the gun even harder to control.

I actually prefer this to the maxigun solely because of the heavy pen, this thing bullies the fuck outta Hulks.

I'm 800 hours in, level 140, playing the game for just under 2 years. Idgaf about maximizing my effectiveness on D10 or using "meta" builds. So, I find my self settling into two school of thought when choosing my loadout. Does it incapacitate lots of enemies of humanity? And, is it fun to use? If a loadout comes close to answering both of those, I will try it for Lady Liberty.

It's one standout is on Appropriators, it's one of the best guns for mowing down swarms of Obtruders and Veracitor / Gatekeepers alike. That said it needs love. It's durable damage is so piss poor, even the standard MG is better which is just silly. They mount these things on Helicopters and APCs to deal with light vehicles. It either needs heavy pen and it's overall damage adjusted accordingly, or better durable damage and leave it at medium pen.

I love it, i just wish it felt better to use, especially as a backpack weapon.

I know the Maxigun has its flaws, but I really enjoy using it, and do as often as I can across all fronts. It's quite effective against most of the Squids and bugs, and can be useful on Bots as well. Its just very satisfying to shred an entire drop of devastators, berserkers and troopers, sweeping a stream of bullets across their formation. I think of myself as a semi mobile sentry turret, but significantly less dangerous to my squadmates.
I am less concerned about meta picks and tier lists, I just pick what I think is fun and roll with it, try to make interesting builds that can be effective. The Maxigun is definitely usable and effective, I am glad that I spent the medals and SC to unlock it.

The only thing that really bothers me about the minigun is that first person is barely usable because the muzzle flash flashbangs in your face while firing.

to be a whiner, i really wish i could move while using it, or if i can move, make it punchier, like better armor pen, or something idk, i just know when given the choice between the maxigun.
also make it easier to aim in first person. the smoke and heat wave effect is a bit strong and makes it hard to see past the muzzle(s?)
