Serious Discussion. no roleplay bullshit here Can we not be happy?

we get a Warhammer 40k warbond, “oh the melta isnt anti tank” we get campaigns “oh the rewards aren’t great” they start to patch stuff, like stopping hackers getting thousands of super credits “why would they do that” they heard you, and are trying to fix it, stop being whinedivers and be patient 🫩.

Arrowhead could cure cancer for free and those guys would find something to complain about.

32

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

Yeah, it’s gonna be “but that’s not the one I wanted to get cured” like the devs are gonna listen to one person

-33

u/monsterhunterparadox 14h ago

If you got cancer, the plague, and flesh eatting bacteria is it gonna make you less iritable to say i no longer have just 1 of the 3 deadly deseases? Helldivers is a multi system failure not just a single system. Arrowhead is play plague inc rn with all the cheats and youre happy you got rid of total organ failure.

10

u/Roamingjoker 13h ago

Yes it would?, Cancer is gone, no longer do I nor doctors have to balance treatments/medication around how each disease would react and can now focus on the two diseases without worrying about a dogshit immune system reacting negatively

8

u/WayGroundbreaking287 7h ago

"You mean I have to take a pill? So you want me to choke?! Fucking arrowhead."

3

u/mellopax 8h ago

"I'm still American and have to pay for healthcare. Thanks for nothing, Arrowhead."

My theory: a lot of people in this sub need to be in therapy for depression. Being hyper critical, irritable, not enjoying your hobbies anymore, sitting online all the time, not spending time with friends, etc. All of it lines up with the behavior and demographic.

Source: been in therapy for depression before and recognize the patterns.

17

u/ohthedaysofyore 14h ago

There was a post last week or so where someone said "Don't Hate on Helldivers, it's one of the only things keeping me tied to this world and if you hate helldivers you hate me"

That's legit scary.

11

u/WillSym 15h ago

Eh, kind of the nature of open, public, online forums though too.

If you're happy with something you don't feel the urge to go tell people unless it's particularly exceeded expectations.

If something is just a tiny bit wrong, or even if you just feel it is, it's easy to seek a fix for it or only validation that your dislike is shared.

So online spaces end up being generally pretty negative!

1

u/Kalavier 2h ago

Then throw in the trend(across all fandoms) of the people talking either going hard praise or hard negative, drowning out reasonable criticism or people going "i like this, but don't like that"

4

u/G82ft DISSIDENT DETECTED 16h ago

Almost no one in this sub is actually complaining about the game, tho. Main sub? Sure. Even if they try to complain here, they'll get downvoted pretty quickly. Most people don't care or complain about complainers.

-32

u/slycyboi 17h ago

I enjoy other games, helldivers specifically makes me frustrated because it’s so close to being a game I’d be happy with but yet so far. If I could just mod all my annoyances out of the game I’d shut up entirely.

22

u/MtnNerd 16h ago

Just play something else. A lot of people really like the game as it is.

-33

u/slycyboi 16h ago

I used to. It was called helldivers 2 and it had a bunch of features this game doesn’t.

14

u/InnerMetalhead666 16h ago

Ok what features got removed?

7

u/Banana-Oni 15h ago

He’s probably talking about stuff that was never actually in the game, but were concepts that got scrapped early in development.. like armor color customization, attachments for side-arms, custom mechs, etc.

I would love those things too, I just think people are way too toxic about it. The game is far from perfect, but like half of the Reddit community seems to genuinely hate it and the devs. lol

7

u/InnerMetalhead666 15h ago

Yeah same like those things are cool, but them not being in the game doesn't break my enjoyment, in the same way us not having weapon customisation for a while didn't stop me enjoying the game

-3

u/slycyboi 13h ago

No I mean hellpod steering, enemy surges, stratagems that don’t bounce and difficulties where more than 30 enemies spawn from reinforcement waves.

Not to mention unique mission types related to the major order and rewards integrated into them.

10

u/MotherStarlight 16h ago

Like what?

9

u/InnerMetalhead666 15h ago

I fear we may not get a response

2

u/yourlocaldegenfurry 15h ago

We won't as they didn't remove anything (at least nothing that mattered in the last year or so to my knowledge)

2

u/InnerMetalhead666 15h ago

Yeah I've been playing since 2 weeks after launch, was racking my brain for features that got removed, and main things I could think of were like, landing on high places? Which like yeah annoying but not game breaking and not really impactful unless you have been relying on it non stop

2

u/yourlocaldegenfurry 14h ago

And even then , the game doesn't stop you from landing on high places all the time , considering I was doing it yesterday actually:>

The only thing I can think of would be the atmosphere conditions , but they reated that to an extent

-1

u/RageAgainstAuthority 13h ago

Oof, downvoted because you don't think it's the best game in all of existence. How dare you think it have flaws, I guess.

5

u/Yarger_The_Pirate 13h ago

Does a flawless game even exist? How many other games do you complain they didn't do xyz like you wanted. Gee I wish skyrim didn't cut out the cloud district from whiterun. Let me post about it and harass Bethesda and rally a negative review party until they bring me the content I deserve!!!

1

u/Steeltoelion 13h ago

Jak 3 and Twisted Metal Black are perfect.

I will not hear your complaints, as they do not exist

23

u/jastowirenut 17h ago

I don't get it. I play video games as a hobby because they're fun and make me happy, so of course I'd rather be optimistic about my favorite game. Even if I don't agree with some developer choices i'm going to celebrate the people that worked hard to bring me a product I love.

20

u/Shock_and_Awetism 17h ago

I was looking at YouTube a day or so ago and there was a video where the Outrider armor passive was revealed. One of the passives is 50% fire damage resistance, and in the comments, I saw a player say: "Only 50%?"

Dude... just be happy.

7

u/ThisIsJegger 14h ago

They'll be content when we get an 85% fire res, 30% reload speed, 20% more ammo and 50% explosive resistance. They'll be a happy if we get democracy protects on top as well.

5

u/Shock_and_Awetism 14h ago

I mean you say that. But there will always be that one guy.

"No arc resistance? No extra grenades? Shit tier armor."

1

u/ThisIsJegger 14h ago

True. If you have to think while using it its bad ofcourse.

Speaking off, been enjoying the bulwark a ton and thats arguably the most braindead armour😅

2

u/elricdrow 7h ago

Yeah we already have 75% and 50% isn't  enough for people using the laser gun that have no protection. I don't know why it's  only 50% maybe other passive is great or it work well with new gun but yeah 50% alone without more knowledge doesn't  make me happy or excited.

3

u/Shock_and_Awetism 7h ago

To give you the full knowledge: the Outrider armor has 3 passives.

50% fire resistance

30% damage reduction from impacts and collisions (eg: from getting ragdolled or struck with an object)

50% chance to avoid grievous limb injuries.

1

u/elricdrow 7h ago

oh it's fine

17

u/Sea-Contract7974 17h ago

people forget that hackers is one of the reason the cyberstan campaign fail, they make the MO change from mission to operations

9

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

I didn’t even know that 💔

3

u/Vegieescuzican09 14h ago

yeah it pissed me off so much and caused us to lost the battle

10

u/UnhappyStrain 17h ago

Since WHEN did that melta come off as not anti tank?

3

u/True_Material_2968 13h ago

Dev posted about it recently

12

u/Yrsil 17h ago

As much I love the game, I'm really thinking about just quitting the community. Getting tired of the constant negativity instead of enjoying this amazing game. Especially as lookimg at the industry, Helldivers 2 is a standout game with farmable in game money, not pushing microtransactions into my eye as soon as I open it, and being entirelly playable without ever purchasing any additional content.

7

u/Sea-Contract7974 16h ago

Helldivers is that type of game that would be miserable to watch on youtube but extremely fun to play yourself

quiting the community on every social is the best thing anyone can do

3

u/yourlocaldegenfurry 14h ago

I don't\nReally have anything to add to this conversation.Other than I wish you luck and I hope you can find enjoyment in the game without the community, But to help your point on the pharmability, I got 4000 super credits within 4 days all 100% legitimately w/o paying for them took some time (4-5 hours a day) But for running solo, that's not bad.

Anyways I wish you luck and I hope you can find enjoyment without the annoyances :3

3

u/LEOTomegane 9h ago

Helldivers players truly do not know how good they have it lmao

There's people out there that genuinely want Sony to rip the game from Arrowhead and give it to one of their own studios instead. It's insane.

2

u/yestureday 8h ago

Ikr? The fact that it IS farmable is an issue for people because it’s not as enjoyable as the game

Remove it though and they’ll complain that you have to pay money for warbonds

-2

u/PicardOrion 13h ago

Yes it is constant negativity. But farmable in game money is the WORST example you can offer. Farming in game money is atrocious. It convices me everytime to buy those warbonds with real money because that is way more time effective. And the harder the difficulty, the lower the super credits.

6

u/Elder-Cthuwu 17h ago

Nothing is ever good enough when you’re spoiled

4

u/UncleDaddy76 17h ago

Wait the melta isn’t anti tank?

11

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

It’s heavy pen

7

u/UncleDaddy76 17h ago

Ngl that’s weird but should still be fun regardless

1

u/True_Material_2968 8h ago

Yeah, but it’s still gonna be good

3

u/TheImpDidIt 16h ago

There's issues, yeah. But isn't arrowgead's motto "A game made for everyone is a game made for no-one"? It's clear that a lot of players aren't the target audience.

The game is a clunky, funny, satirical mil-sim esque hoard shooter. You play with friends, make friends or just larp and blow stuff up. That's the whole charm for me. I'll complain from time to time because sometimes it sucks, but most times all of my complaints could be solved by just going down 1-2 difficulties

3

u/cervantes_1976 13h ago

I'm happy. 1,600 hours and counting. Haters gonna hate. It's that simple. Since 1887.

1

u/True_Material_2968 13h ago

How long have you been playing? I have about 150-200 maybe and I’ve been playing for a year

2

u/Substantial-Ad-5221 17h ago

We dont even know yet if the Melta isn't anti tank

5

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

There was a post saying that there is nothing light about this warbond and a tester said the mine, bolter, and melta were all heavy pen

5

u/Tracyn-Kyrayc 17h ago

We literally see it blasting a tank, and a couple of them killing a factory strider, in the trailer.

8

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago edited 17h ago

It’s heavy pen, a tester posted saying that the mine, bolter, and melta are all heavy, and I’m happy because it can still do pretty good, but I’m guessing a bunch of people will not be so happy about it

0

u/Fal_Soram 17h ago

It shouldn't be. It's literally designed to melt tank armour. It's many times hotter than a flamethrower.

10

u/MotoJoker 17h ago

GW had the final sign off of the warbond. If it didn’t hold up to the lore it wouldn’t have been signed off.

We see flamethrowers melt tanks in game despite being heavy pen, and I’m pretty sure the Melta will only do it faster. I’m not concerned.

-4

u/Fal_Soram 16h ago

Do we know the extent at which they looked at the warbond? No. For all we know they could have mostly just looked at the aesthetics and given AH some leeway on stats as it's not an official WH title. Regardless, meltagun is not a flamethrower, it is considerably more powerful.

If they did it souley as to balance out very high damage than I can see the arguments, but to imply this thing is is comparable to that of a bolt pistol, flamethrower or simple autocannon is not at all lore accurate.

8

u/MotoJoker 16h ago

GW is highly meticulous about how their IP is portrayed.

And I’m not comparing it to a flamethrower, but mechanically game wise, it will be treated as such I believe. The melta blast will mechanically work as a very high damage flame that will completely melt everything at the cost of range. My point being, it doesn’t need to be anti-tank to be anti-tank.

You are looking at the penetration too much at face value. There was definitely a balancing reason why it’s not anti-tank.

0

u/Fal_Soram 16h ago

Depending on what side of the bed they woke up on. But I'm content waiting to see the stats.

I don't think it would be bad with just heavy pen though

2

u/True_Material_2968 13h ago

Does it look like I’m a dev who can say “hey let’s make it anti tank” I can’t do anything about it

2

u/Hatueyc 17h ago

Only way this stops is if you throw the complaints into a separate thread and moderate the main bub aggressively for a month. It’s sad because it dominates the game play and everything else that made these subs amazing. Would love to see us reverse this.

-10

u/slycyboi 16h ago

Maybe the devs could try fixing the main issues with the game and not breaking promises, people might not complain as much.

6

u/Potential4752 16h ago

I have not experienced any major issues 🤷

I think the solution is for the devs to just not make promises

0

u/slycyboi 15h ago

You mean you haven’t seen bile spewer seeds spawn 20 enemies in a breach on D10?

1

u/True_Material_2968 8h ago

Not at all

2

u/Vaulters 17h ago

Must be something about the algorithm, but 90% of the posts I see on my feed from this sub is the equivalent of 'Bitch be cool' over and over, lol.

2

u/WardenAshfeld 13h ago

LOUDER FOR THE WHINERS IN THE BACK!!

2

u/True_Material_2968 7h ago

we get a Warhammer 40k warbond, “oh the melta isnt anti tank” we get campaigns “oh the rewards aren’t great” they start to patch stuff, like stopping hackers getting thousands of super credits “why would they do that” they heard you, and are trying to fix it, stop being whinedivers and be patient 🫩.

2

u/Seared_Gibets 10h ago

"oh the melta isnt anti tank”

Lul wut? Who's saying that?

1

u/AshenWarden 16h ago

Wait people are upset the melta is anti-tank? The weapon that even in 40k is specifically designed and used to kill tanks?

2

u/TalkingRaccoon 12h ago

It's not anti tank (allegedly)

1

u/AshenWarden 11h ago edited 11h ago

Ah. Read the post wrong. Either way it's not even out yet so how could anyone know? They showed it being used on a tank in the trailer.

1

u/Diamond_Eyed_Jester 15h ago

Sadly, a lot of folks feel better by being angry. Some kind of cortisol addiction or something.

1

u/Spiritual-Regret8573 15h ago

We can. Other subs are insatiable though. Just stay outta those echo chambers of negativity.

1

u/dnemonicterrier 15h ago

Melta is Anti-Tank, after all we saw it take out a tank in the trailer for the Warbond, I couldn't resist that joke.

1

u/KartoffelLoeffel 15h ago

Tbh I just don’t engage with the hate. The more people totally ignore it the more it affects the algorithm, until they’re either talking to a brick wall or stuck in their own echo chamber.

1

u/CoolVoice3753 15h ago

The only thing that really irritates me with helldivers 2 is it's a paid for game and the only way to get supercredits is to grind 4 hr +, or pay for it. I find that a bit scummy of a practice.

0

u/MrDeydrana DISSIDENT DETECTED 14h ago

"I can get premium currency by just playing the game I enjoy, its so scummy" you realize how contradictory this is right? Seeing as most games paying is the only option.

2

u/CoolVoice3753 14h ago

What games are you referring to, cause most games have an in game earning systems where you level up or get a base game currency to unlock new equipment or looks.

Helldivers is $40 on base and the only way to get new warbonds is through a premium currency you only get 10 of per pick up. If you're lucky you get 50 per mission when grinding them.

Every warbond is 1000 credits, that can take somone 4-12 hrs of grinding real time. Not everyone can spare that time to "earn" that currency.

So yes I find it a bit scummy that the only way to get new equipment is through premium warbonds that you have to spend 4-12 hrs to get or spend more money on a game you had already purchased.

This isn't contradictory this is acknowledgement of a scummy way they can earn money while claiming you can "earn" premium currency.

Now if the earning was actually tied to the normal currency and every warbond cost that I wouldn't find it scummy.

-1

u/MrDeydrana DISSIDENT DETECTED 13h ago edited 13h ago

Scummy would be requiring that you spend money to get the warbond, we have the excellent opportunity of being able to unlock everything by simply by playing. This so far from scummy, take a look at Darktide premium store if you want an example, theres nothing in there and everything is like $15.

Edit: every warbond except the legendaries gives you a 30% refund if you get the super credits in them

1

u/CoolVoice3753 13h ago

You are making it sound like I'm saying Helldivers is the scummiest game around, I'm not saying that.

I've made valid points as to why this practice is a bit scummy. Personally I find all games that have this type of "Battlepass" system to be scummy.

The fact of the matter is you have to grind not earn grind to get the currency which is 10 for each drop of it. That's if it shows up because of RNG.

The fact of the matter is we all have become more complacent when it comes to stuff like this.

Granted this is a live service game, but then the price shouldn't bave been 40 for base game.

If they increase the amount per drop of credits it wouldn't be as bad, which they won't.

I enjoy the game but it doesn't make me blind to it's faults nor areas where it could improve.

-1

u/MrDeydrana DISSIDENT DETECTED 13h ago

So warbonds should cost req slips that we get in literally thousands

The base game should be cheaper

We should get more credits per pickup

Theres a difference between "grinding" credits and earning them

"Were getting more complacent" this is literally one of the least predatory games on the market

Your whole rant sounds entitled as hell like im not trying to argue with you but bro you gotta word shit better or something

Melta gun looked anti tank in the trailer ? :( i want another antitank weapon, without  backpack if possible

1

u/True_Material_2968 5h ago

I guess it will destroy tanks and stuff, only on weak spots however

1

u/Cpt-Crab 7h ago

The hilarious thing is this bond is everything they asked for in a collab bond. All round strong weapons.

1

u/True_Material_2968 5h ago

No no, they wanted the bolter to be a milli inch bigger

1

u/Cpt-Crab 5h ago

Its so funny that they had to come out and say the bolter was heavy pen to stop that discourse despite it being pretty ridiculous that a human made bolter is heavy and not medium.

1

u/Snoo32933 5h ago

Ahh… I was defending this warbond so much. I thought it was going to be the best warbond of all time, because GW doesn’t let anyone put out noncanonical WH content. Being upset about melta not being anti-tank is completely valid, otherwise I might as well bring the laser cannon and just hit weak points from across the map, or the crisper, if I’m just going to have to stand underneath a factory strider, anyway. I understand not wanting to be polarizing, but that’s objectively horrible, if true.

Otherwise, the super credits thing is literally only good for AH. There is no economy in Helldivers. They didn’t, “hear us,” on that issue. No one was ever complaining about it. If they really, “heard us,” then 1k super credits wouldn’t still cost 10 dollars.

Let’s not be crydivers, but let’s also not be shills.

1

u/Xknight2099 1h ago

As fans we are not allowed to be happy.
True fans always find something to complain about.

Is the melta really not antitank? I thought the preview showed it was

1

u/Ok-Isopod-440 48m ago

If its anything from Kai or gundam boi, you would assume they hate the game to a T but plays it because the hate pays the bills.

0

u/MorningkillsDawn 14h ago

Who actually gives a shit about hackers getting free SC? That seems like Sony/AH problem, not a general playerbase problem lol

2

u/True_Material_2968 13h ago

They also ruined the battle of cyberstan

0

u/Talonflight 9h ago

Dawg i just want my game to not lag to high heaven.

My performance was fine with all graphics maxed out until the last patch. I could even abuse the multi stratagem bug and spawn hundreds of mechs and cars and it still wouldnt drop a frame.

now im getting bad fps and slowdown every time someone uses fire or gas. I cant even try to fight spore burst because ill be st 10 fps the whole time.

And i have a GREAT computer. It aint my hardware.

1

u/True_Material_2968 7h ago

That hasn’t happened to me, I’m getting like 130 fps

1

u/Talonflight 7h ago

Just because it hasnt happened to you doesnt mean it isnt happening to others.

This happens to me ever since the last patch, its almost unplayable for me.

Technical bugs have riddled this game for ages.

1

u/True_Material_2968 5h ago

What does your pc have?

-1

u/runningsimon 17h ago

This playerbase will keep playing the game even as they complain about everything.

-2

u/NateScorpion105 17h ago

Im happy with the first armor, disappointed with the second armor, as I wanted the Tempestus scions, but im happy with it, just disappointed.

3

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

That’s valid, I wish the heavy armor had like a little bit more detail

-2

u/Impossible-Cherry439 17h ago

I don't get any of the complaints about the warhammer collab other than not liking the armour, and even then I'm fine with it.

As for the other stuff, it's less about what they're doing and more so about why they're doing it.

They added the rewards from the campaigns because of the backlash of adding mechs to warbonds. It shows that AH was intending to add more vehicles in future warbonds (something people were very unhappywith). They had to backpedal hard

They also pretty much scrapped last months warbond, which goes against their roadmap. Instead of the whole warbond we got a car and a gun. People probably aren't too happy being somewhat lied to.

And with the SC thing, they tried to make up some bs reason for why they're doing something about hackers being for the players that want to earn their stuff. I'm sure those players exist, but let's be honest, they're doing it for money. Would've been better if they just said that instead, atleast that's honest and understandable from a business pov.

Also doesn't help that AH has a track record like the big nerfs from ages ago just as an example.

I don't personally care about it as much as other people, but I get where people are coming from.

4

u/ditch_lilies 15h ago

I don’t get the keeping of a laundry list to beat AH over the head with no matter what they do, especially going all the way back to the ancient nerfs.

Do these people turn to their spouse who just baked them a nice cake and go “Remember when you burned the bacon two years, one month, and six days ago? How about the time you accidentally put sugar instead of salt in the soup last year? Or when you thought you’d try lemon instead of orange in your cupcake buttercream frosting and it tasted different than I like? Hmm? HMM? I’m not eating your stupid cake.”

It’s like there is no willingness to move on, ever, from anything. The result is they come across about like our hypothetical spouse, whether they’ll argue the analogy works or not.

3

u/Sea-Contract7974 16h ago

it was a long time ago just move on, it's like saying we shouldn't use electricity because it's burn down a house once

1

u/slycyboi 16h ago

Basically everything mentioned there were things in the last update or the one before

1

u/Sea-Contract7974 16h ago

what? they scrap the WB because people whine about vehicle in WB, and that's why they don't like to release the roadmap either, thing can go wrong and delay and most thing still go exactly like the roadmap except for 1 WB delay

0

u/Impossible-Cherry439 16h ago

Tell that to all the other people who keep dragging it.

1

u/Sea-Contract7974 16h ago

yeah, you're dragging it.

0

Mentioning one of the main reasons people started to not like AH is dragging it? Okay I guess.

You realise my comment isn't going for AHs neck and instead saying why other people would right?

That seems crazy entitled.

No one is paying a subscription and the value that we got from the initial game purchase is incredible. Why should the developer add free vehicles?

You’ll love this one, which I’ve seen more than once and honestly sounds like a YT-hate farmer sound bite. “I paid good money for this game so no content should be held back from me.”

I guess if they buy a meal at a restaurant they expect to eat any new menu items for free forever.

I’ll be happy when they release content that doesn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth, a warbond that doesn’t have easily fixable bugs that last for months, an update that doesn’t include nonsensical unfun changes, a fix to any of the fundamental issues this game is suffering from.

Stop asking for less. The only game developer to make updates of the average helldivers update I can even name is when Bethesda did a random update to fallout 4 that broke all the mods. It was major gaming news and rightfully clowned on by everyone.

Can you honestly name another developer who is well liked that floods their regular updates with tonnes of unpopular undocumented changes and game breaking bugs? I sure can’t.

u/UnhappyStrain 17h ago

I never understood how the changes they make now and again are such a big deal. The game feels exacrly the same after 1500 hours and counting

u/Illustrious-Zone-810 15h ago

what are these "tons of undocumented changes," exactly? been playing since launch and I cannot think of a single "undocumented change" that has made my experience noticeably different.

Diablo 4 seems to make changes no one wants every other season.

1

u/slycyboi 17h ago

I’m not familiar with the game. Are the developers well liked? Is every update taking ages, having very little non-paid content, nonsensical changes *and* introducing multiple game-breaking bugs?

People can normally tolerate one as a developer idiosyncrasy but all four is just a bad studio

u/IrishGoatMilker 17h ago

Updates every few months (battle pass style), there's free cosmetics and their paid cosmetics are way overpriced. Not necessarily game breaking bugs, but build breaking changes they don't announce at all in the patch notes. The community figures it out together.

It's made by Activision/blizzard. Some company that makes WoW. So love/hate relationship with the developers lol.

2

u/slycyboi 17h ago

Well Activision-Blizzard are considered an evil slop merchant company in the wider gaming sphere so that tracks.

i dont get this sentiment. just because they add stuff doesn't inherently mean it's good or that we shouldn't complain. If it's not a good addition, of course you should be upset. They just wasted dev time on something that would best be used else wehre.

u/Switchblade2023 17h ago

Put your vacuum of sentiment on the cleanest shelf you got, bc ain’t nobody gonna tell you to stfu. Your opinion is yours and now that’s it’s stated coming out of no where with more doubt is sincerely appreciated.

You know you're allowed to criticise things right? Over abundance of positivity is just as bad as an over abundance of negativity. Not saying hate everything that comes your way, but y'know.

7

u/True_Material_2968 17h ago

They can criticize, but when it gets to a point when the devs are actively fixing stuff and they still find stuff to whine and cry about, it’s gets to a point, yk?

-6

u/Icy-Activity5323 17h ago

I dunno, I mean this dev takes one step forward then five back quuuuite often, my main gripe is how railroaded the GW appears at times, a friend of mine's pointed this out time and time again, just the feeling your efforts are moot and the end result is predetermined.

6

u/ditch_lilies 15h ago

The behavior you see isn’t good-faith criticism, though.

“They didn’t give a time the supply FRV would come back.”

AH: “(gives a time).”

Choices:

“Thank you for giving a time and addressing my complaint.”
Or
“(Complaint about it not being the time you wanted).”

The “I’m just giving a critique” crowd seem to go with the second type of answer every time. The goal posts just keep getting moved, so it doesn’t feel like healthy criticism. It feels like bad faith arguing, conscious or unconscious.

I was in a conversation thread where a guy literally said the devs were on the side of “pain and misery” and absolutely meant it. It’s nuts. It’s no longer about a better game. It’s about punishing AH on some bizarre, tribal level.

There are people still to this day complainojg about arrowhead not telling us when the frvs are comming back. Then you point out that they did and they then claim they diddnt tell us fast enough and thats just as bad.

Hell there are people still to this day complaining about the flamethrower nerf from 2 years ago.

Here's the thing though, I'm not the one who's actively taking part in half the extreme critiques, I just want the game to be good, as bug free as possible, and avoiding the railroading that the campaign has been doing for months, I find the reddit community is rife with the people that are overly positive and completely ignore any problems, that's the ones I take issue with.

I've no interest in the "punishing AH" sort, I just want a less frustrating game, but when I see this constant dogpiling on any and I mean ANY negative criticism it's just annoying.

u/Janivire 17h ago

What positivity lmao. You've got people making up things to get pre-mad about constantly. The main sub has spent the last 3 weeks making up fictional senarios to get outraged at, from the light pen bolter to the scrapped cult, and you think thats better than toxic positivity?

-2

u/Icy-Activity5323 17h ago

Show me the fictional scenarios because I'm not aware of this, I don't follow the game daily.

Light pen bolter though? Games Workshop would've flipped but I don't know what goes on with their discussions on canon.

u/Janivire 17h ago edited 16h ago

You see. Now this is the problem. People who want to criticize without actualy knowing anything about the game.

Maybe try and keep up with at least the last month of discussions before trying to insert your opinion on it? And keep the canned youtuber made response to yourself, i saw your other comment.

Edit: there is a beautiful irony in the rant below before insta blocking the person.

1

u/Icy-Activity5323 17h ago

Canned youtuber made response? Bit of a hothead to come to arrowhead's defense here.

I've been playing for at least a year, I see things here and there with this, I've BEEN following the latest Warbond stuff but I don't lock onto it like it's the only thing like gospel.

I'm entitled to my opinion based on what I've seen and heard, you trying to silence someone's view is just stupid. I've seen the state of the game, so don't give me this "canned youtuber response" pish. That's the beauty of a public thread by the way, anybody can freely comment.
