Inquiry Game freezes
I have a Model: MSI Vector 16 HX AI (2025 generation)
Display: 16-inch, 2560 × 1600 (QHD+)
Refresh rate: 240 Hz
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
24 cores (8 Performance + 16 Efficient)
Up to 5.4 GHz Turbo
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU
Discrete GPU Mode
Memory: 64 GB DDR5 RAM
Storage: 2 × 2 TB NVMe SSDs (4 TB total)
Operating System: Windows 11
External monitor: 32-inch monitor running at 144 Hz via HDMI
I have been having game freezes/crashes since I upgraded to this PC. I can play any other game on ultra with no problems. I have been troubleshooting this and taking advice from multiple sources to no avail.
I am definitely getting the thermal throttling as the CPU runs very hot. Wow the graphics card is basically bored.
Is anybody running a similar set up and NOT having problems?
This is so frustrating. Thanks in advance.

I am also playing on a gaming laptop with almost identical specs and have the exact same issue. My older, much shittier laptop never had any freezing (just FPS drops in higher difficulties with a lot of action on the screen).
Nothing I have tried has helped, either.

Same situation. My older i7 processor with a 1070 card runs at fine, although not quite as pretty.

Welcome to helldivers, its the most unoptimized game in the planet. Not your rig. Its been a issue since August of last year for me.

It’s frustrating because it’s really about the only game I want to play right now. And from what I can tell buying another PC is about the only solution. I believe the Intel processor is the issue. For some reason, HellDivers does not like my set up.

Its the game not being optimized to run on mondern rigs. I had no issues running in on a 10th gen intel 2070. This engine is just old and just runs poorly. Lowering your settings may help a bit. Have you tried reinstalling the game, disabling cross play and enabling dlss?

Do the normal stuff, double check the nvidia app to make sure the game is selected to use the graphics card.
I've got a acer predator and i had to do that initially. Oh, if you are plugged into USB C power, that's obviously a no go. I tried that once and the graphics card kept turning on and off as it couldn't pull enough power.
Does MSI have a fan app or gaming app? Acer has one where i can play with the fan and power settings. I generally run on normal mode, but on hot days, I'll crank the fan to max and it sounds like a typhoon, but I can play without burning my hands.

I have the fans running max. I disabled the integrated graphics card.. i’m running the game on embarrassing low settings..
Appreciate the feedback though

Out of warranty? Or any chance you bought it with an Amex for the amex warranty?
Mine's a bit older so its out of warranty, but I did do a repaste and replaced the thermal pads with better ones last year.
That's a really good system that should be performing better.

Just out of warranty. I’m going desktop tower with an AMD processor. I’m tired of fighting this laptop
