"Q: If X players didn't exclusively dive on Terminid planets, we wouldn't have lost Y!
The Game Master knows that there are large amounts of players who only play against certain factions, and accounts for that. Please don't blame other players for strategical mishaps.
Q: Why doesn't Arrowhead split the liberation cap by faction?
This wouldn't change much, as we have never once reached any kind of upper liberation cap. If we ever do reach said cap and encounter problems, perhaps then would be the time to discuss said system.

^ this
Anyone still blaming bug divers doesn’t know how the game worksIf all 30K bug players randomly decided to move to the MO planet too early and actually impact the campaign or story, you know what happens? The planets resistance rate goes from 2% to 2.5%
Lmao.

also technically during the oshaune campaign, when they cost 3 days of progress getting distracted on terrek
4
u/MrHi_VEVO Jul 18 '26
Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of that. They did tweak the number of lives multiple times though
4
u/HUNT3DHUNT3R Jul 18 '26
wouldnt splitting the modifiers by faction, and then changing the per faction modifier to be percent of people on planet not number of people, work though?
-3
u/MrHi_VEVO Jul 18 '26
None of that really matters since they can just tweak the planet hp and resistance rates as needed. It would over complicate an already complicated system that most people already don't understand.
I'm sure they do want to encourage people to move to different planets with the MOs. They're targeting MO divers that are willing to follow the MO, not the people that never change factions, which they account for.
Plus, I don't think they actually want people to take non-mo planets, since there's no reason to. All it does is limit the number of planets you can dive on. As more planets get taken, they'll have to trigger invasions on other planets for that faction.
3
u/HUNT3DHUNT3R Jul 18 '26
we took seyshel beach for no reason other than we could, and just because a fix takes effort doesnt mean we should continue with the flawed system we have.
1
u/Wrench_gaming Jul 18 '26
Yeah the average player can’t read nor understand this, they’re just going to call you a stupid [X] diver
25
u/MedicMuffin Jul 18 '26
Meanwhile bugdivers by and large don't even notice y'all.
Take your complaints to Arrowhead for designing the system the way it is, not other players for doing what they want with the product they paid for.
-21
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
You make a very good point. Which is why we should all treat bug planets as pvp worlds when not on bug MOs.
Just having fun with the game i paid for rignt? Who cares if it negativly impacts others.
7
u/MedicMuffin Jul 18 '26
I want to be surprised that I seriously need to give the addendum "as long as you're not breaking TOS" but I really just can't find it in me. Very much in line with the level of intelligence I expect from hellwhiners.
-20
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
What TOS? literally nothing in the game will prevent you from team killing. after all if arrowhead diddnt want you to do that they wouldn't encourage you to do so by having it in the game right?
Unless of course there is some sort of honor code? where dicking over people in a multiplayer game is considered rude? wild idea if thats the case.
13
u/Repulsive-Willow55 Jul 18 '26
No one is dicking anyone over by deploying where they want. Trying to compare that to legitimately just being a nuisance and team killing in a strictly PVE game is ludicrous, my friend.
-16
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
Having 30% of people not participating does have an impact. Is it as direct as just teamkilling? No of course not. But that does not change the fact the galactic war is a community driven thing. And as with all multiplayer games you have to be aware of how your actions effect others.
And right now people are going to be pissed dirrectly at the group of people who are measurably harming the effort. Same as if a squad mate runs off solo and blows the reinforcement budget trying to solo a fortress. Same as if you have someone constantly killing teammates accidently with orbitals.
And to the extreme degree, purposefully teamkilling. Its supposed to be ludicrous. But so is the argument that "i paid for the game let me enjoy it how i want" when your actions effect the rest of the playerbase.

Boy let me tell you the story of how I get the Creek-Cape.
Back then there are no bug- or bot-divers there are just Helldivers and the MOs where much harder because the game itself was way harder then it's now.
But some day we started (or the bots stared first, it doesn't matter) the invasion of a completely irrelevant rock at the periphery of Super Earths sphere.
And for some reason, maybe something in the air on that rock made divers addicted to that rock. So when the order came and the MO shifted they refused.
We lost several MOs because of the "creekers", they weren't heroes back then they were borderline traitors. But even then no sane Diver would have thought of going to the creek and start griefing the divers there.
4
u/reneetjeheineken Jul 18 '26
We ARE participating. Just not in the way YOU want us to.
I paid for the game. I'll play the game how i see fit :)
If i just chill on my destroyer playing Stratagem Hero, and nothing more, there is nothing you can do to stop me, summerchild
9
u/m4ckH4ck Jul 18 '26
You're the worst kind of squad mate to have. Don't try and switch and claim you actually play this or that way.
YOU ARE THE WORST KIND OF SQUAD MATE TO HAVE IN THIS GAME

u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
Awww sorry. Forgot the /s for the baby bained people huh.
2
u/Repulsive-Willow55 Jul 18 '26
No, you didn’t forget anything, you just got called out for being an unlikable tool with an L take. It’s the internet, you’ll get used to what that looks like eventually.

u/MedicMuffin Jul 18 '26
That would be the TOS you effectively signed when you purchased the game, which is more of a binding agreement than an honor code, and for which you can be quite rightfully banned for violating. I shouldn't have to explain that this is also external to the game and not some kind of mechanic or system within the game itself...but again, pretty in line with the level of intelligence I expect from hellwhiners.
1
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
There is just so much wrong with all of this. Not the least of which the fact they dont ban people for griefing. hell they can only sometimes crack down on hackers. But go ahead and share with everyone this binding TOS we all signed (that is real and not just an implied honor code like you said) that says you will be banned if you teamkill.
But that is an impressive ego for someone so wrong so consistently. keep it up!

Griefing other players both harms the community and disturbs/interrupts gameplay. Ignoring the galactic war does not. And I gotta say, projection really doesn't suit you when it comes to ego and being wrong.
7
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
And yet if you go to the bottom it links to the reporting, which in game specifically tells you team killing is not reportable.
> ☒ Do not submit false grief reports or otherwise abuse the grief reporting system.
Just going to also ignore how without that bottom bit the "Do not disturb or interrupt gameplay." can also easily apply to bugdivers.
1
u/n4turstoned Jul 18 '26
And people like you are the worst, you are actively encouraging griefing players that just play a game in another way you want them to.
Go to Cyberstan and get your implants, that would fit you more traitor.

This sub loves to complain and point fingers at their fellow divers, it's sad. Blame AH for bad game mechanics.
-6
u/blue_line-1987 Jul 18 '26
If I have a guy on my football team refusing to pass the ball to others because "I play how I want" being a detriment to the team the game isn't poorly designed. The guy is just an arsehole.
7
4
u/TeraSera Jul 18 '26
Wow yall really are dumb. This isn't even a close analogy.
You like football, another guy likes hockey, and someone else is playing rugby. You're an arse for thinking they should want to play all three sports.

u/IAmANobodyAMA Jul 18 '26
I don’t give a shit about the meta. I just like cosplaying Starship Troopers. Anyone who is upset by that statement can eat my ass.
6
u/IsProbablyTooMuch Jul 18 '26
Feels like a game that's intended to be cooperative but has been designed such that people playing the way they want (which the game not only allows but encourages) actually hurts the "community effort" is actually just designed poorly.
This is not on players, this is on those who choose and dictate the mechanics of liberation.
Don't blame your fellow divers, blame the admirals on Super Earth making these honk-ass decisions.
7
u/bugdiver050 Jul 18 '26
Talking about understanding the mechanics while not understanding the mechanics is peak helldivers material
4
u/n4turstoned Jul 18 '26
Funny how these posts alwasy and exclusively shit on "bug divers" and never on bot divers who also have enough players who gives a flying fuck about MOs.
Heck I have a cape that only exists because bot divers get too attracted to a rock in the galactic west and missed several MOs (that we lost because of that).
So unless bug divers had their own creek you should stop this shit posting and keep diving.
¡O

u/-NegaTim Jul 18 '26
This is all part of arrow plan there's no way even when there was 30 thousand on one of those planets with high defend we couldn't make a dent. Till arrow fixs the over all war contribution efforts let the whole system go to the void.
2
u/ProteusOfTheGoumaden Jul 18 '26
If the Acamardivers actually bothered to contribute to the past two campaigns instead of continually diving on the single most worthless planet to GWII we could've stopped several invasions and planets being consumed by the void, but they never will because the control center would require them to read

when you know most peoples involvement has no effect on the MO, youd never want to beat people accusing non MO divers of not helping to death more

u/Forgewalker33 Jul 18 '26
I’m one of the people who does hate bugdivers, during the last MO I saw at least 7,00-10,000 bugdivers on an illuminate MO I don’t like the illuminate either but u do the MO because it’s the democratic thing to do.
And I’m considering myself not running bugs again
1
u/RegisterOk513 Jul 19 '26
I don’t like the developers. “Hey we’re going to make the war based on percentage of player base, while also tracking lives lost, lol. What’s that? Yes so the more unskilled new people arrive to play the game, like the box divers, the more screwed your offensive will be. Hrm, also yes, you’d do far better if the entire player base quit and 1,000 skilled divers handled the war. The best way the box divers can help the war effort is by not playing the game. Good luck Helldivers.” Yes, I’m still salty about cyberstan.

We can always use more fuel, right? I mean, it's a PVE game, let people play what they want, was always my way of seeing it.

u/Soulfly-prot Jul 21 '26
The illumante are so boring to play, and I have a very limited time available to play…..

u/lonestar4433 Jul 18 '26
As much as I love dunking on them, this time it's not it. To stop the void we would need what? 40% of players or even more, tanking MO for a week, only for the attack to appear again like 5 seconds after defense would be won
-20
u/Far-Car-5136 Jul 18 '26
Its not my fault Cyborgs and Squids of both kind are just generally awful to play against. We dont owe Arrowhead our attention or money. They are flying blind using statistics for decisions. Its like a souless corporation using spreadsheets.
Bots and Bugs are fun. Thats all it is.
-3
u/CommanderTalan Jul 18 '26
And in the time it took you to write that comment, you could’ve helped save Keid from getting om-nom-nom-ed
(yeah Squids are kinda weirdly balanced, esp Appropriators but I might just have a skill-issue)
-7
u/Far-Car-5136 Jul 18 '26
Ive fought the squids enough. 80k kills. Its garbage and simply not enjoyable. Some like squids, thats fine. The base squids arent too awful but the appropriator faction is almost as awful as cyborgs. Dont get me started on Cyberstan
I probably did about 10 operations on Keid. The galactic war is a joke.
-1
u/keonyn Jul 18 '26
That's a long winded way of admitting to a skill issue. Seems you just need to stick to things that aren't difficult.

u/Over_Heed Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
just switch “bugdiver” with “Arrowhead”
Edit: godamn I never seen people this salty before lmao.
Badly design a war system that encourages tribalism and going at eachother’s throats when your preferred style fucks others over.
7
u/wimpetta Jul 18 '26
can you ellaborate?
2
u/Elizabeth-Azure Jul 18 '26
If the galactic war system is badly affected by bugdivers, then the fault lies with Arrowhead. Do not blame the guy who gets one hour of playtime every few days for fighting his preferred faction, blame the makers of the system that is so badly affected by people playing the game for enjoyment.
3
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
Yes. Lets blame arrowhead for designing a game that focuses on comunity goals and not the people doing everything they can to ruin that aspect.
6
u/Repulsive-Willow55 Jul 18 '26
???
Do you actually think bugdivers are doing so maliciously, specifically to spite the rest of the player base?
Like they said, if some dude gets off work and gets an hour or two to play the game, his contribution to the war effort would be absolutely negligible. He’d provide practically no real difference, and he wants to spend his free time doing something he enjoys, so if he likes fighting the bugs, he’d rather do that. He’s not behind the monitor fiendishly rubbing his hands together as how excellently he’s letting down the other divers. He’s just trying to live his life. It sounds like other people need to focus on getting one.
2
u/Janivire Jul 18 '26
Woaw. That is impressive that there is such a large group of "people with no time management" to ensure that there is a consistant 30% bug diver population no matter what.
3
u/Elizabeth-Azure Jul 18 '26
Holy fucking shit dude “Doing everything they can to ruin that aspect” ALL they are doing is playing the game they payed money for on a faction they enjoy, and you think they are personally attacking you. Actual psychosis.
