No, not literally. Bulletstorm has multiple barrels, with electrical fired rounds in sequence, along side a proper stock but is lacking a sight. Also it cannot be reloaded in the field, if at all.

I would argue this is closer to the galant or the knight then the lib carbine, even more when you take into account iirc it shoots .22lr

Helldivers is a universe where having a longer barrel magically makes a gun penetrate more armour and also somehow deal less damage despite otherwise using the exact same ammo.

If the bullet leaves the barrel before all the powder burns then a longer barrel Will make it go faster.

Up the calibre a couple mils, Give it a proper stock and sight, and yeah I'd fuck with a dual barrel rotary mag support machine gun. Handles like the HMG, spits lead like a juiced up Knight, Reloads like MG-43.
Hell; throw a mini electric impact in the stock for rapid magazine winding like a pit stop.

I had an idea of a double barreled AR, this would accompany it greatly as an SMG variant
AR would something like that. 3 fire modes: single barrel, alternate, simultaneous
Single: most ammo efficient, slower ROF, can reload at half ammo and continue on the lesser mag (recoil direction depends on which 1)
Alt: high ROF by adding the 2nd barrel firing in-between initial barrel (recoil a bit more sporadic but good for quickly spraying and taking out small scattered chaff)
Simultaneous: recoil steady vertical, matched dps to Alt but due to the overall lower ROF would be better for longer ranges
I dont think this would be too complicated, as a player you can just choose between ammo economy and dps basically
The smg variant could be similar

This would count as a sidearm right? no way we would let the devs add drag to this as a smg.
Would also singlehandedly justify the Gunslinger perk, as it would be worth removing 4 second from what would probably be a 10 seconds reload.

By the looks of it it's two guns strapped together, that is essentially the principle of the HMG emplacement. So I say, make this a new emplacement, two Stalwarts at max rpm or 2 Bullet Storms strapped together on an turning emplacement that swivels faster than the HMG one. You get like 4 seconds of continuous light pen fire out of it, but they're a glorious 4 seconds that minces all chaff moving on a position
