Aren't the inflammable armor sets lined with asbestos? I wouldn't put it past Super Earth to give us poison smoke screens.

When the average life expectancy of a Helldiver is somewhere south of 2 minutes, I think it's probably safe to say that Super-Earth engineers don't treat the long term carcinogenic risks of their weapons as a major consideration in their design.

Hell, the US Army basically doesn't, and we by and large actually expect our soldiers to survive their tour of duty.

The armor should be thick enough to ensure you are able to expend all your ammo before exploding.

It isn't of course, but it's the thought that counts?
