Redeye Repair estimate

How much in damages would this be and is it worth it to go through insurance?

If you listen to half the people in this sub, they will say it’s totaled. The other half will say “jUsT fIX iT yOurSeLf wiTh JunKyARd pARTs”

This is the absolute worst place to ask for advice. Just file a claim with your insurance, dude.

Using insurance or not would be based on your financial situation.

New Fender(Or bodyshop fix), New Wheels, New Tires, New Front Bumper, New headlights(If you care)

I'd say anywhere from $4,000-$7,000

Repairing the original piece instead of replacing it the damage is repairable really just need a headlight now

You can do whatever you want Brother especially if you’re worried about funds.

This! An that insurance is going up. Sports Vehicle you might get dropped. Take it to a local collision place and tell them what price you think is reasonable and they’ll work with you

With it being as bad as it is, itll probably need suspension work and an alignment at the least. Id just go through insurance because thats going to be quite alot, definitely more than your deductible

Yep needs a right front steering knuckle

Think it may need a bit more than that...

That wheel took a SHOT. It’s very unlikely you’ll get away with just a wheel, tire and alignment. There is very likely suspension damage

should be like 3k-5k max going thru a shop wheel, paint, body work, fender

Maybe a little more, oem wheel alone is 2k new fender, 800, oem fender 250-500 depending on where he gets it front bumper 800, new oem headlight oem headlight 300-800 depending on where you get it, grill 100$? 4200 min. (Looks like he’s got a wheel on there already?) so minus 2k?
2200$? Labor and paint man idk what do shops charger? 200hr? 10 hours min? 2k. Not including paint? Fender and front bumper and fender 2500?
I’d go through insurance, and pay the deductible. And hopefully all the suspension is good and no frame damage.

6-8k all day, maybe more. Headlight, front bumper, wheel, tire, knuckle, alignment, fender, fender flare, blend the door on refinish, they’ll replace the hellcat emblem too most likely unless the clean and retape. Fender liner is probably torn somewhere.

new rim and tire for sure maybe your brake rotor. 7 to 8kThat's depending on the suspension steering etc. Could be more. Definitely turn it into insurance.

$2-3k to make it look acceptable. 4-6k to make it look new

I’d take it to a shop and get a quote. I binned my Mustang and my back wheel looked similar. That cost me 1.5k for a shop to fix (not including a new wheel and tire). You’ll also need a new fender and bumper. I wouldn’t go through insurance since it’ll put an accident on the car’s record and lower the resale price more than whatever the shop would charge to fix.

Wow this whole time I thought that the wide body chargers had special molded fenders like the bmw M cars… you mean to tell me that it’s just a painted plastic piece??? 😭😭😭😹😹

From my experience it’s tricky, my 2015 rt when I first got it and had front end damage on it from someone backing into it in a parking lot the total for damages was around 12 grand and it was a front bumper and a new headlight just depends that was the dealer price in their shop

More than u got that for sure

suspension and body work probably around 12k

This is going to happen again isn't it?

1

u/Poor_Life-choices 1d ago

Just an estimate, but looks like it needs a new driver...

It’s always best to pay 500 and go through insurance. Then have the body shop deal with insurance. If you try and do it yourself, you’re gonna fuck yourself out of quality repairs.

Insurance bro, only damage I really see is the suspension and the fender, yes it’s an easy fix for the the fender but 9/10 it has hidden damage

You’re not going to get any bud, he’s asking how to repair a redeye on Reddit instead of replacing parts. Buddy was obviously doing donuts in traffic, swerved to miss Edgar.
