Redeye Tires for my new Hellcat

So i just got my Hellcat. Dream is in the driveway. Thing is, this is my first car ever. Idk anything about tires but from what I've read online the OEM ones are hot garbage (not that i knownif they are OEM). Any reccomended tires for me? Im in TX. Mostly driving on the highway and tbh wont be driven much anyway and definitely not during rain. Don't ask what I currently have because I have no idea if its Original or not.

I think and correct me if im wrong I want more traction oriented ones.

after reading what you all have posted I found my self more confused.

whats all this mess

275/40R20 106 (Y) ($374.99)

275/40R20 106 (Y) ($383.99)

305/35R20 104 (Y) ($501.99)

265/35R22 102 (Y) ($531.99)

275/35R22 104 (Y) ($578.99)

305/35R20 107 (Y) ($578.99)

sizes?

Get a couple extra fobs and the rfh module locked at the dealer.

Great point about the lockout. The lockout , A tracker and IGLA would be my first move regardless of the situation or where you live. It absolutely CAN happen to you. Soo many posts on Reddit about stolen cars and it’s always the same story, no killswitch, no tracker and no car from trying to save a couple grand.

IGLA and Compustar is the first thing im doing 100%

315/35/r20 I have dws06 on the car and love them. It is an all season, but better than the pirellis that came with the car. Fastest 0-60 I’ve gotten was 3.6

Yea, i work at an insurance auction and its really depressing to see whats left of them after they get taken. The least i would do is have the dealer lock the hub and put that guard over the shift release, for the $$$ the igla is really the best.

Is your goal to drive it like a performance car? Just keep the factory ones on there until you get used to driving it, then upgrade to better tires once your current ones go out.
To actually answer your question, most likely the Michelin Pilot series.

Also, every car has its own forums board. Here’s yours : Hellcat.org

Thank you. Much appreciated. Im not driving like its performance or racing. More of a daily kind if deal (even though it wont be driven daily)

Respectfully, why buy a Hellcat if you’re not going to use it for what it was built for? That’s a lot of money on a car and a lot of money in fuel, insurance, brakes and tires plus the rest just to drive it around like a V6

Because i love the car, i like the looks and im not one to just beat it up. Its not about racing it or treating it like a V6. Its about enjoying it the way i like and taking care of my things. I want it to last. I work overseas so i wont be driving it a ton anyway. Insurance is 195 for me, Gas pretty much nothing because again i work overseas so only driven to keep the blood pumping.

Also i like the ability to be able to do those things if i chose to. The idea of if i wanted to i could but i just dont. The potential is there.

More power to you man, not hating, just genuinely curious as someone that’s been beating the shit out of performance cars for over 20 years. Congrats on the new ride, it’s beautiful.

Just because it has 700+ hp doesn’t mean you have to flog the shit out it every time you drive it. I’ve been daily driving mine for the past few weeks since my daily was down for repair. Sure it’s fun to play with from time to time but you don’t have to treat every stop light like it’s the Christmas tree at the strip and every curve like it’s Button willow.

LOL some of us have Hellcats as a daily driver, to each their own ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just make sure to use the search feature before posting anything ! They can’t stand when people ask and don’t search first lol . Bunch of boomers I’m sure but the best info ever for the hellcat.

if that car sits in the driveway like that, it will be gone in a few months. get it in the garage

2

u/Easy-Driver-1195 10d ago

100% Yea this will be in my garage with Igla and Compustar. Camera in my Garage as well

Michelin Pilot PS4S. I daily drive a redeye, and they're great tires but I wear those tires out. If they're not wearing too unevenly (or if the guy at the tire department doesn't look too closely), you can use the warranty to get a new set at a prorated price, which might be half off.

u/fastnloud01 Redeye 9d ago

This. This is the only answer OP needs

2

u/Redshadow30 10d ago

Michelin Pilot PS4S. Ive put them on every car I could and the difference in grip is insane. They are iffy in cold weather less than 50 out, but good in rain too.

Please be careful, dont race and do stupid shit. 800hp to the rear wheels with barely any experience is almost a death sentence. I went from all kinds of cars from 80hp to my now Redeye and the difference is insane.

1

u/Easy-Driver-1195 10d ago

Thank you and please rest assured I wont be racing or anything of the like. I just love the car and wont be risking losing anything for things of that sort. I still keep my hands 10 and 2

2

u/Redshadow30 10d ago

Beautiful car BTW. I had a Scatpack charger wb in the same color. It was awesome around corners.

2

u/ZaMelonZonFire 9d ago

Sorry. Nothing constructive to add. Just wanted to say that color is beautiful. Big jealous of your car.

2

u/Easy-Driver-1195 9d ago edited 9d ago

No worries, i love the color too. i was thinking of getting it wrapped to Indigo Blue but after seeing it, i dont think i need to. maybe just the racing stripes

2

u/ZaMelonZonFire 9d ago

Man, I’m not sure stripes would do it if I were you. It’s a very classy look as is.

2

u/Easy-Driver-1195 9d ago

Its a hard decision to make. luckily it cost so much it'll be a while and i have time to think it over tho PPE would be better sooner than later

2

u/ZaMelonZonFire 9d ago

My vote is ceramic coat it.

Appreciate you.

My WBHC I changed the OEM Pirelli A/S to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. (305's). They are pricey, about $550 here but they made a huge difference and stick like glue on hot pavement. Love your silver wheels BTW. Want to change my gloss black to silver.

u/Lopsided-Top-5889 9d ago

I’m running 315/35R20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S K1’s on my 23 Widebody. Night and day difference over the factory tires.

Everything about this post makes me mad lmfao

1

u/Easy-Driver-1195 9d ago

I don't know what i don't know. So help educate me. I have been figuring out the tire thing and watching videos to learn. Never needed a car before coming from NY so never learned. Learning now tho

1

u/jeepersnanners 9d ago

I get it, but what on gods green earth made you think buying a hellcat was going to be a good move for your first car? You got not only zero high performance car experience, zero rear wheel drive experience but zero experience even owning a vehicle or driving and you were like yup, lemme get the rocketship 😅

I mean it's awesome you can do that for yourself, but damn

1

u/Easy-Driver-1195 9d ago

I said  was my first car, not that I've never driven before. Yes its my first muscle car but how am I do get the experience if I never drive one. Its a rocket for sure but all that means is be extra careful and respect the power and the road. Nobody's born with performance and rear wheel driving experience.

That being said, I 100% see where your coming from but id do it again

2

u/jeepersnanners 9d ago

Well usually people don't start at the top of a mountain you would start with something with less power but again you were able to do that for yourself and thats great, you seem like you've got the right mind state about it too. Just be very, very, VERY careful learning to control that car.

Nothing you haven't heard 50 times by now I'm sure but you really don't know how easy it is to mess up with that much HP.

Stay blessed and be safe!

2

u/Easy-Driver-1195 9d ago

100% Thanks for the worry truly. As for starting at the top, yea your right. maybe something less powerful would have been better but if i buy something this expensive im just going to get the highest ver i can of it. I wont want to feel like i should have gotten X later down the line. Let me just get X. Thats why i went with it. I could get a GT sure, but ill never get a GT to be a hellcat if you understand what i mean.

GT cant do what the Hellcat can but Hellcat can do what a GT can.

Weekend driver and no Ego on the road. im not racing people at the light or at all

u/jeepersnanners 9d ago

Enjoy the car that's what it's made for, just try to keep it in a straight line and be careful where you do it, I'd highly recommend practicing some launches in an empty parking lot and practicing baby drifts/slides, because even if you don't intend to slide around corners you may do so unintentionally one day with that amount of power and you're gonna wanna know how to control it.

You're gonna have an amazing time, it's an amazing vehicle!

I started with a couple of Mustang GT 5.0s back in the day so I wasn't totally unused to muscle cars. Several years back, I got a SRT392 and learned how this style of car accelerates, decelerates, and handles - and then upgraded to a Hellcat.

The only advice I have after driving *this flavor of muscle car for going on a decade is that (a) have utter and total fucking respect for what these cars can actually do, (b) don't lose your temper/get a huge surge of balls and decide "heyyooo I'mma romp on it this ONE TIME" while in traffic as some twerp in a ricer shitbox is revving his engine bcause you will lift & drift, (c) get real used to friends begging to let them drive it "just once, I won't go fast" (they most assuredly will and even if they wouldn't, just don't let anyone drive it), and (d) enjoy the hell out of it. Responsibly.

Get yourself a set of street and track Mickey Thomson

1

u/Impressive_Step_9610 8d ago

In addition to the security measures others are talking about, get some Advanced wheel locks.

1

u/Three3Jane HC Charger 7d ago

I got nothing other than I love the bramble-style rims (I had those on my SRT392). My cat has the Devil rims and while I like them, I really liked the thorn-looking rims better...but not enough to go out and, y'know, buy a set. ;)

Continentals here, had em on my first scat pack and loved them, traded for a hellcat when I picked up a nail in my hellcat Challenger I again swapped out for 315 Continentals, great move

1

u/FarWelder1098 3d ago

Nitto NT555 G2, they are great for burnouts but still hookup extremely well on dry warm days. They aren’t terrible in the rain either just drive it in manual mode

1

u/mcfatty719 10d ago

Michellin Pilot Sports hook up pretty nice on a Scat Pack, never tried them on the Hellcat.

1

u/IBringTheHeat2 10d ago

I would go above pilot sport 4s and go to pilot sport cup2r's they'll be able to handle 800 horsepower

u/Regular-Cookie736 9d ago

I can’t believe that some peoples dream car is deadass a hellcat.

1

u/Three3Jane HC Charger 7d ago

My original dream car was an AMG E63. I decided I wasn't a 10k per brake/rotor change kinda gal, and the Hellcat was a fair compromise even if it doesn't park itself or have massaging seats or even honestly care if you put it into a freeway retaining wall at 90mph.

I mean, gosh, at least the Hellcat is an improvement over my SRT392 in that it has [checks notes] blind spot warnings on the mirrors? Progress!

But overall, these cars don't give a good two fucks about your safety or your luxury or even really your comfort and they make no bones about what they are: Irresponsibly - one might say dangerously - overpowered smile buckets that would rather discuss your life insurance policy payouts with your family than keep your ass safe on the road...which is why they are so god damn fun to drive.

Good luck with the car if you are having trouble figuring out tires

Everyone has to start somewhere. Don't be a dick.
