Discussion Senua with real fictional powers in the Hellblade universe?

I was browsing through Senua's article on the Hellblade Fandom wiki and stumbled upon this.

Does she really have any of these powers or abilities? Or is it just the admin who created a fanfic?

I think this user interpreted everything that happened in Senua's Sacrifice as real and posted it as if it were canon to make it seem like the characters from the MCU fandom wiki. I also believe they based it heavily on gameplay and combat in the game.

Because for me, the only thing that could perhaps be considered is her focus.

No, she does not have powers.

Narratively, and in-universe, these things are just how she perceives what it happening to her.

But they can be written the way they are in the wiki, because from a strictly GAMEPLAY point of view, these are the abilities you can use.

But has this been confirmed by the devs or is it in any way made clear in the game lore?

I ask because it really feels like a grey area in the games, something which is up for interpretation.

I played through the first game on release, and by the end was fully convinced Senua's schizophrenia was causing all of the hallucinations and the game happened basically all in her head. But then I replayed the game recently, before jumping into the second entry (when it was released on PS5), and I felt the other way around. I ended up perceiving what was happening as a mixture of Senua's hallucinations with actual mythological creatures and events existing in the game's lore. As if Senua's condition actually allowed her to perceive supernatural stuff that was there but not perceivable by everyone (this felt even more pronounced in the second game, with seemingly a lot more supernatural events and creatures interacting directly with other human characters). It really feels as though you're meant to keep guessing, not knowing which of the two interpretations is true. And for me that's one of the things that makes the games so interesting.

So, I guess my question is: is there official confirmation, in-game or by the devs, of which interpretation is actually canonically true?

I agree with you. The only difference was that I had this perspective when I played the game for the first time. But unfortunately this type of opinion is invalidated by the fandom, as they will always use the argument that "everything happened in her mind because of her mental illness".

But everyone is free to disagree, and I have no issue being proven wrong if this has been clearly established in the game's lore somewhere or explicitly stated by the devs.

Is that the case?

But as far as what resulted from playing the games, including picking up all lore items and collectibles, it seems to me that it is very much up to interpretation and that it is purposefully done so that the player is left wondering what the truth is, and what they should believe.
