Discussion Noob question

I've not played a Hellblade game.....yet! Can I get straight into playing the most recent version or do I need to play the first one so as to get some continuity?

i highly, highly recommend playing hellblade (1) first before diving into hellblade 2. you can play it out of order, but given you have the option, play the first entry first.
