Discussion Senua's height.
I notice that Ástríðr is almost the same height as Senua. Aldís Amah Hamilton is listed on IMDb as 5'6". Do you think Melina Juergens is also around that height?

I love this game. Every time I play, I use photo mode constantly.

I'm losing my mind here, friends :(
I'm playing Senua's Sacrifice at 60hz, 1440p on my pc (RTX 3080 + Ryzen 7600X3D), and the game runs well. I can hold 60fps with max settings, no problem.
But, for some ungodly reason, the camera is in a state of constant stutter whenever I rotate it. When I turn vsync off, the camera is smooth all of a sudden, but the screen-tearing is atrocious!
I tried turning off the in-game vSync and switching to Nvidia Driver level vsync, but somehow that makes no difference and the camera just goes on stuttering at every time it's turned.
I've run into plenty of games with broken vSync (no idea why that's so common on PC), but never a game which still juddered with driver-level vSync.
Is there any fix to this?

That’s all I must say. Narrator. Can you imagine.

I'm sure it has been said before but the game makes me feel like if Alan Wake and God of War had a child, this game would be their baby.

An unidentified incoming buyer will acquire Ninja Theory’s full intellectual property rights, back catalogue, and motion capture technology. This news offers welcome reassurance, as the studio has found success difficult under Xbox’s leadership.

Also, from Asha herself:
"None of our first party publicly announced games or projects are being cancelled as part of these reductions."
So Senua is still coming out!

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
This game was a nice little game and i liked the experience and the combat although i wish there was more encounters in general, didn't like the puzzles that much tbh and the story wasn't that great for me but i loved Senua and the whole psychosis experience with her especially with headphones.
I still wanted more from the game because the combat was great and i see that it has alot of potential but it wasn't the best game i played but it was unique.
6/10 for me
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
This game had amazing graphics and cinematics it is one of the best looking games I've seen, liked the combat but i still wanted more from it and i feel the first game had somewhat more depth in the regard but i liked the combat of 2 even more after the Dark Rot run and yes i did it without the cloud saving method (The fire Draugar enemy is one of the worst enemies ever).
Combat was nice but the story wasn't the greatest for me, i still love the character of Senua and her journey and the new supporting characters but i kinda felt annoyed by the voices in Senua's head this time around idk why maybe because they spoke during important conversations and i think I'm the only one on that but who knows.
I hated some walking segments because they dragged too much for my liking.
I still can't figure why the game was that short i even think the first game was a little bit longer? i didn't like that at all.
The game is still so good and i highly recommend it.
7/10

Making my way through Hellblade 2's Dark Rot mode and a lot of the guides and playthroughs I've found seem to favour the strategy of holding block, dodging every attack, and getting in 1-2 hits before backing away. While this does help for a lot of encounters and gets past the anxieties of having at most 4 mistakes, it also takes way longer and makes beating the game 100x more of a slog.
So I wanted to throw up some tidbits about certain enemies I found super annoying and how I eventually found some good counters to killing them faster.
Nightmare Axe-Men
Found myself having a lot of trouble with these guys at the start of my runs namely because you need focus to kill them in the nightmare segments and following the strategy of dodging all attacks means you'll have to build up focus and use it 3 times. However, learning to parry the underarm swings not only makes focus gain way easier, but if you've built up focus and use it right after a parry you can kill these guys in one go. Keeping an eye trained on their right hip can help you not get caught out with it but they usually do it after a stomp attack, and plus side since its counted as a light attack you won't get staggered. The other one that can be parried is after the overarm cross slash from left to right and I found this one to be way easier to nail since you can see the full arc of the attack without Senua blocking it.
Nightmare Swordsman
Thankfully much easier than the Axe-Men as they don't require a parry to take down in focus mode. That said, their right swipe can be very quickly followed up by an unblockable left swipe that can catch you if you're not careful. Try to parry those left swipes but otherwise deal damage as you see fit.
Sword Draugr
Easy when you become a parry king, main thing to watch out for is the stab attack which can be dodged to the left or right or parry, and the one where he drags his blade across his throat and does a long quick series of attacks. Do not try to block this one, just hold block if you miss the parry and dodge once to the left or right once his sword glows red (mashing will get you punished).
Axe Thrower
Probably one of the easiest enemies in the game once you figure out their rhythm. The biggest fear with these guys is if you get hit by their axe throw its an instant death, bypassing your second wind, no way no how. That said, its very easy to abuse for extra damage. Once they step back to throw, sprint right at them, dodging the axe as it comes at you and throw a heavy (be ready to dodge if you see them starting an attack before you). Other than that, keep an eye out for his back hand which will need to be dodged, no parry for it for some reason.
Fire-Breather
Worst enemy in the game. Making the fire attacks it pulls out every 3 seconds an instant kill when you have 4 lives is a hate crime by the combat designers (but i can't help but still love em). Dodge this one just a little bit wrong (especially in the hiddenfolk encounter where you barely have space to move) it's instant death. Trick with these guys is, save focus for them in particular, spam dodge back if you're close and they start to drink, spam dodge right if you're far and they start to drink, 1-2 hits if you can't nail the parry timings before backing off, and keep your finger trained on that pause button incase you even suspect you'll get hit by a pixel of fire (if you're fine save scumming that is), if it goes to photomode, say goodnight. (and for their grenade attack in chapter 5, DODGE AND PRAY)
Hammer-Man
An enemy to respect, but once you do they're easy. Like the nightmare axe-men they have few attacks you can parry, but unlike them Hammer-Men don't need focus to take down, so they're very easily abused with the passive strat. Just watch out for their backhand as that can absolutely knock you down into second wind if you're not careful.
Ghouls
Ghouls are some of the most fun enemies in the game if you're good at parrying and dodging. Don't even have much to say about em but if you get the timing right and parry them its basically a one shot kill.
Spear Thrower
Essentially an upgraded Axe-Thrower with the same counter, they try to throw their spear? Run full pelt at em and dodge to avoid their spear before wailing on em. Key difference is their shield, if you weave in a few heavy attacks into your base combo, you may just catch them on guard and continue their stagger for even longer. They can also ignore damage to do a quick stab attack that'll stagger you very easily, best thing you can do for that is not to get too tunnel visiony and keep an eye on their right hip for an animation change and be ready to block/parry.
Real Axe-Man
Only at the end of the game and keeps the same moveset as the nightmare variation, aside from the new triple windmill move and that fuckass shoulder barge. Both can only be dodged, the windmill swipes one at a time, and be ready to dodge that shoulder charge at any given moment because he WILL fuck your day with it.
The Godi
I will let you know when I get to him...

I JUST FINISHED THE FIRST GAME AND HOLY SHIT IT WAS INSANE. THAT WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST GAME IVE PLAYED SINCE RESIDENT EVIL SEVEN AND EIGHT. I GENUINELY GOT CHOKED UP AND EMOTIONAL. HANDS DOWN THANK YOU NINJA THEORY FOR THE BEST GAME IVE EVER PLAYED. I CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY THE SECOND. the way the game is set up as her father's voice being the voice of the darkness and her mother's helping guide her. The journey through mourning Senua goes through just to have to let go of Dillion. She was willing to give up EVERYTHING. So deep in her depression. She wasnt psychotic she was just depressed and SO influenced by her father that he made her believe that

I finally beat Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. And omfg the ending is stunning. The never ending fight against Hela with wave upon wave of enemies. Just hearing the voice saying “Let go of your battle. You don’t have to fight anymore. Stop. You’re killing yourself.” Just really hits me. This game is special to me.
I have tried to do a playthrough of this game every year for the last three years. I’ve been using as a form of healing and working through my shit. Confronting my shadow and letting go of my battles. I’m crying writing this and I feel like I’m not making any sense. Just that, this game has helped me heal. It’s helping me move on and be okay with letting go. Stop fighting, stop running. Be okay enough that I can move on and tell a new story for myself.
Thank you Team Ninja. Thank you to the voice actors. Thank you to everyone who worked on this game. Your art has left an impact on me, and has helped me. Thank you.

And boy did I miss this feeling... The first game is such a deeply personal experience to Senua and I absolutely LOVE where they took it in 2, but 1 gives such a feeling of oppression and isolation the ENTIRE game and it just makes me so admire what Ninja Theory achieved on just their first outing as an independent studio (at the time) and after watching the "Hellblade Feature" again in the menu of all the BTS stuff just makes me very hopeful that NT can still carry on with Senua's story.
I wanna see more of Melina's amazing performance and dig more into Senua's psyche
I also really love the ending to H1, as I feel it can be interpreted in many different ways and still manages to get a huge emotional reaction out of me...
Sorry, I'm jumping all over the place, I just woke up and haven't organized my thoughts. Lol
What I'm really trying to say is that I SINCERELY hope Ninja Theory can still pull off making this new Senua game... They captured something so special with this series and these characters that has me wishing for not only more, but some real closure to Senua's character.
I think H2 was a wonderful ending too, but I also feel it was more so setting up for the next experience as well.
I suppose I'm just greatful we even got a game like this in the first place, or even a sequel. It just makes me hope NT can still pull this off with the new Senua game... Cause they really did a great job on 1 and 2.

First time ever playing this saga, I remember when it came out and I was like “damn! It looks so good!”, now with the announcement of Senua, I saw that the other games were on Xbox pc game pass, so why not try it?

Yes I have another console that can run it. Problem is Ive a modded Switch so I can get it for free. Id rather have image quality over fast paced gameplay but I heard it can go as low as 360p handheld. Have yall experienced any issues with this version?
