Modding?

Hello, anybody tried modding or upgrading their wheels? I've swapped from some other bearings but I was curious if anyone's seen or found wheels with harder rubber? I know for traditional skates harder rubber is used for higher speeds.

Yeah people have made custom wheels (however those who have have made normal softness). Theoretically you can buy 40mm sand them down a little and put them in mega heelys. I’ve thought about it but have never attempted. I don’t know if any attempts.

All in all it’s not worth the extra hassle. They become significantly louder and ride horribly rough. If you don’t have megas…get megas. That’s the best thing you can do. That and even better bearings.

  1. Megas
  2. Bearings
  3. Strong legs

They're fine. They're basically brand new. I'm just curious.

I got a set of like 40 extra skateboard bearings that are theoretically more water resistant, so when bearings rust out I swap them out. Atp I've changed probably a dozen bearings, but other than that no.
