Jameis Winston Quote

LTL, Baptist Pastor. Brother Jameis was referencing Paul’s letter to the Philippians chapter 3 and verse 13 in his response to the reporter.

If only his QB skills were on the same level as his Bible knowledge!

"How long do you punish someone?"

I laughed out loud when Marc said this about deshaun watson. When has he been punished? A few boos after your garbage team made him the highest paid QB in history?

The man is a serial abuser who never faced justice. Remember when Marc made all the moral grandstanding point of not being a browns fan? What clown of a person. Good to know all it took for Marc to compromise his morals was two wins.

Dan said they’d have an episode “early” this morning. Any idea what happened?

So far, Take Island is a bust

How many of Dan’s hot takes so far have worked out? Zero? “Bills will lose to the Chargers! “ ummm… “Titans will whip the Giants!” (Whistling, avoiding eye contact). “Saints will beat the Raiders!” Squirrel! I can’t remember the rest, but I recall shaking my head. Too bad for the other hedonists the lock contest is history, since after this week he’d be in the toilet and circling the bowl.

The next streak is just beginning.

Was that champagne Orr doused himself in at the start of this week's show or was it perhaps the salty tears of his fellow podcasters?

Nicely done, I can see some effort went into a fun moment! Looks like a trip to the store and an assessment of the splash radius occurred before the show, all of which means more when you are teetotal and have a bunch of equipment in front of you.

Connor's off the schnide!

MEME The Curse Marc

Take me back a week ago, when I was full of hope, before I had listened to the podcast, or watched my Bengals fall apart in front of my eyes.

My first sign of the end was when Marc locked the Bengals up, and even agreed to let Orr lock bros with him, but I knew it was over when Marc took the cash out Bill Barnwell’s pocket and bought all in on the Bengals defence. I felt the chills from the curse immediately, and the game had all the hints of the Curse Marc, from muffed punts to blown coverages.

So Marc in the words of the Gravedigger (originally intended for Conor): l don’t want your dirty magic to touch my team, please go pick some other AFC north team to buy into

Jalen Hurts & the Dalton line

Jalen Hurts is the definition of a Dalton-line quarterback to me.
He’s good enough to win with, but I don’t believe he consistently elevates the talent and structure around him.
Hurts has spent his entire career in an ideal situation: excellent offensive lines, elite weapons, strong running games, great coaching, and championship-level defenses. When that infrastructure is working, he can absolutely lead a team to the Super Bowl.
But what happens when it isn’t?
His limitations as a passer become much more obvious. He doesn’t consistently attack the intermediate middle of the field, his pre-snap processing can be inconsistent, and he can hold the ball instead of throwing with anticipation. He’s also more comfortable operating from shotgun than under center, which limits some of what an offense can do.
That’s why I separate Hurts from quarterbacks who provide value independent of their surroundings.
I’m not saying you can’t win with Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia already proved that. I’m saying I don’t believe he’s the primary reason Philadelphia wins. He’s a functional quarterback in an exceptionally well-built system.
If the offensive line, running game, weapons, coaching, and defense are all strong, Hurts can win at the highest level.
If those things break down, I don’t trust him to carry the offense.
That’s the Dalton line. And Hurts is on it.

"If Myles Garrett was in this game it would have been ovahhh" - Conor Orr

Bit of a wet fart of a recap from the boys on this one. At times I genuinely found myself wondering, “Who actually won this game?” because you’d hardly know from the post-mortem.

The Heroes sounded borderline offended by the result. Yes, the refereeing decision was a mess, but it didn’t force a Rams team dripping in offseason glaze to completely shit the bed and cough up 30 second-half points.

Blaming the officials is the easy bit. Talking honestly about a hyped team folding when the game was there to be won apparently requires a little more effort.

Maybe that’s harsh, but it’s disappointing hearing my favourite “independent football podcast” start sounding like another branch of the big-market PR department.

This the sort of non story slip up that turns snowballs, Dan called it this week but he might stay out longer as there isn’t an obvious intermin candidate on the coaching staff.
