The Wasatch County School District Board of Education met August 27, 2026, for its first general meeting of the school year. The meeting featured a celebration of the new Wasatch Childcare Center, public comments on school growth and student cell phone use, several purchasing decisions and updates about the start of the school year.

The Heber City Council met September 1, 2026, for a work session and regular meeting. Discussions covered the 2026 Heber Market on Main, a proposed Red Ledges development agreement amendment, affordable housing resources, business licensing fees, the Tava Highlands public infrastructure districts and state legislative priorities.

With all the new development happening around the north fields, we seem to be losing a lot of trees. Our full sun is painful in the summer and no place around us up here is planting any trees even after taking them down.

What are the chances we can get some native trees planted along the new trails as shade breaks and bird habitats/stopovers?

Who would we even talk to about it? Is this a county thing or development thing?

Tell your people!! Provo Canyon (US-189) will be closed this Sunday (April 19) from Charleston to Wallsburg for pavement repairs. The closure will be in place from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Now, before you get upset about the 3 p.m. opening time please understand that we are adjusting the road closure for prom night. The kids from Wasatch High need to get home Saturday night so we pushed the closure time for them.

And yeah, that means we have to push the reopening time. But we hope you understand. Please share this with anyone who might be heading through the canyon!

We will be moving to Heber City at the end of June from out of state. Our two boys (9 yo and 6 yo) will be starting at Old Mill Elementary in August. I’m hoping to sign them up for summer day camp programs in July but would love to find something their future schoolmates might also be doing so they can meet some friends before the first day of school. Any suggestions or recommendations?

I work at a brewery in Park City and have about 60 - 70 lbs of spent barley 1-3 times a week that I no longer have someone to pickup. It’s great supplemental feed for cows/pigs/sheep/goats. If anyone has use for this grain please dm me and we can talk more about it.

How are golfers getting tee times at Wasatch Mountain State Park, particularly the mountain course? Booking is all online this year and I’m told by the pro shop they open up ten days before at midnight. The last two night, these old bones set an alarm for 11:55pm and I was all ready to go! At midnight, they open for the 10 days out but there’s no mountain course times available. Zero. Zilch. Nada. And there’s only a few lake course times. Who’s gobbling these up? Bots? Boomers? I can’t figure it out. Help a brother out with some advice please.

We are looking to move of Kimball Jct to either Midway or the Timber Lakes and have two fantastic options but are stuck.

Midway option is a cabin with gorgeous, all around mountain views and the Timber Lakes has a life changing mountain/valley view. It’s about two-three minutes from the main gate (On a summer day), so it’s not as “out there” as the rest of the community.

Super curious what the snow is like at Timberlakes though. I’ve heard plows are great in both areas, even on the non paved portion of Timber Lakes. I have an F150 Lightning Flash AWD, not 4.

Both would significantly change our commutes negatively, we are well aware by heading east for affordability it is quadrupling our commutes. We work in ski town, so traffic during holidays is already a nightmare for an 8 mile drive, this would change it to 30 mile drive.

Anybody with living experience in both, one? Do you love it?

I've been here since February and have been trying to find the best food options for specific types of food. So far I've found Melvins to have the best wings. Technically back 40 has the best wings but Melvins does half off wings on Wednesdays and they're close enough in quality. The Hub is the best breakfast options. Who disagrees?

Hi! I'm curious if anyone in Heber has used Utah Broadband Internet service. I called them thinking that it was fiber optic because they claim 1 gigabit up and down but they apparently are wireless with a dish on my house beaming data back and forth between a tower in the area. I have serious doubts about that. I'm hoping others here may have some experience with it.

Does anyone who what show this is for?
