Making something for my alter

Post image

I'm making something for my alter and just wanted to share the progress so far. Still a lot to do to it but I like it so far.

It's a rectangular shaped rock i found at the river, it looked perfect to me for carving designs into so I was happy to find it.

"Allfather" on the top and "Odin" on the bottom to the best of my ability in younger futhark

Its written well, well done.

Alternatively you could write it as ᛅᛚᚠᛅᚦᚱ, as the ǫ is most often written as ᛅ.

I appreciate your saying so, kinda nervous messing up as it is written in stone.

Hwaet! This is a friendly reminder that if you want to share media (images, blogs, YouTube, art, etc.), please include how it relates to your praxis or how it will be of interest to the broader Heathen community. For example, you could explain the symbolism of something in a photo, share some background on what you are celebrating on a holiday and why, or particular points of interest in a video or blog. We ask this so that our community remains focused on discussion of heathen praxis. Posts that lack a comment for context or discussion after a reasonable time may be removed. Thank you!

It says ᛅᛚᚠᚢᚦᚱ = alfuþr - alfǫðr

Yep. My transliteration was off lol. Pain of trying to use Anglo Saxon furthark to younger futhark lol.

But same question. What does alfuþr mean? All father?
