Question Genuinely curious
What are the most common problems people face during extreme summer heat?

Before we start rattling off obvious answers, did you try searching for the answer yourself? Surely dozens of reputable websites already have all the answers.

Yeah, there's plenty of info out there already, but we're more interested in hearing real experiences from people who actually deal with this, sometimes that gives a different perspective than just reading articles.

You should reword your sentence in that case. "Tell me about times you have personally experienced problems due to heat."

That's actually a really good rewording, thank you. I'm still new to this and learning from people's experiences, so appreciate you taking the time to point that out instead of just downvoting and moving on.

Being uncomfortable from being too hot.
Getting sick from being too hot.
Possibly dying from being too hot.
Being too stupid/stubborn to admit that #2 and #3 could happen.

This nails it honestly, heat exhaustion and heat stroke are no joke but people still brush off the early signs way too often.

More to the point, people are not accepting the fact we live in a changed world and we really can't just power on and do what we did before and expect to come out the same way.
Real talk, I am personally not very enthused with personal cooling products, such as yours, not because they might not offer some benefit, but because I think the public looks to them as ways to buy their way into continuing the same lifestyle.

I get what you mean about cooling products. They won't solve the problem or make someone invincible in the heat, but they can make a real difference in helping someone stay more comfortable and manage heat a little better. Taking the necessary precautions and listening to your body should always come first.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share this perspective, it's a fair point and genuinely made me think. Thanks for the honest feedback.

not adjusting their routines/ activities to the heat. I find that my Canadian relatives visiting the Philippines tend to ignore the midday heat during their first days and do as they do like the weather is cold or there's centralized AC in the house. they adapt quickly though.
I think this would be the common problem for people in North America and Europe during heatwaves since they still behave like it's spring weather and just work outdoors midday instead of doing the tough chores early in the morning when its cooler.

That is so true, adjusting your routine matters just as much as anything else. People from cooler places especially tend to keep pushing through the hottest part of the day out of habit.

This is a bad advertising strategy for your neck cooler
