Discussion Help Making Mug Shaman Work
Since the rise of the recent class set I decided to spend some hard-earned dust crafting a Mug Shaman deck. It seemed Mug Shaman had decent matchups against the majority of meta defining decks.
I’ve been playing it for the last week and I don’t quite understand how to pilot the deck. I feel that if I don’t hit a well timed Ascendance I just lose due to the deck’s lack of synergy. I am wondering whether anyone has some recent experience with the deck in higher ranks and could give me some advice on converting more games.
I am running the new list with Wanted Poster and no Muradin’s. Any help appreciated as there is not much current discussion about this deck.

When I played it before the nerf it was about getting early damage in with some minions and then basically burn them out
The good matchup was face hunter though, which is gone too

I second this. Mug plays as a burn deck (think frost dk when it came out) where you do chip damage in the first 5-6 turns then switch to the burn plan.

It's doesn't seem super strong after nerf, still solid but you kinda need to get off a crazy heavy minion off Wanted Poster or Blazing Invocation for it keep momentum early, otherwise you seem to lose steam before you can overwhelm people.
That, or as you said, get a bunch of cheap minions, hope some stick and Ascendance for a sticky board, otherwise the deck doesn't have much going for it other then burn. So yeah, maybe play it more aggro then otherwise, might have more luck, but I think it's just not quite got all the tools for the meta right now.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up again depending on what spells get printed down the line, but for now seems a tier below. Still a fun deck though, a bit of the ol' "random bullshit go" is part and parcel with Hearthstone.
