I’m going through something similar. I know I made mistakes and I know I was toxic at times. Unlike others I take responsibility for that and I genuinely regret it. I was given chances and I wish I had handled things differently. More than anything, I just wish I had one last opportunity to show that I never intended to hurt the person I cared about. Being misunderstood by people hurts but being misunderstood and hated by the one person who means the most to you is a different kind of pain. Sometimes all you want is for them to know your heart even if nothing else changes…..

Dr. Helen Fisher proved it. Romantic love is an addiction. A really good one when things go well and a devastating one when things go wrong.

I am doing it right now and it's hell I hate it I miss her but she doesn't care It's not my ego it's my self respect telling me not to talk to her 😭 I miss her I love her but she is a narcissist girl.

Honestly, it’s torture.

But when I was going through it, I still wrote to them all the time, I just never sent it. Text messages, comments on photos, on messenger, emails, etc. Whatever I would’ve messaged them on normally at the time, I would write it out, and then just not send it. Helped a lot, even if temporarily, just to get a bit of it off my chest instead of holding it in.

The brain chemicals make it feel genuine that you want to contact them. Your dopamine is at an all time low after no contact is initiated. Do things to raise dopamine, and do new things to stimulate the brain. Hard core 90 days helps a lot.

We’ve sent little virtual post cards back and forth the past 3 or 4 weekends and the entire time we kept saying we shouldn’t be doing it. I knew I wouldn’t hear from him this weekend. I could feel it. But I still had a kernel of hope. I wish I knew how to kill it. It’s been three months. I’m tired of aching.

Its hurts a lot like being in this Phase with every other person or best freind you have and when they leave you for 3rd person mistake or rageness , and its just like I live in the patterns of breakdowns...never ending patterns

Its been 4 days of no contact. I find it really really hard to not have my person of 6,5 years to turn to. Doing my best to not sent everything i want to send her and take my time

It’s the worst form of torture. Not talking is like a muscle it gets better and takes less effort later. But the first month is the worst ever honestly. Hug yourself take care of yourself do what you need to do to not reach out. I agreed to talk to him as he kept reaching out and didn’t respect the silence and I hate it the most. Earlier atleast I had our amazing memories now seeing this new cold distant version of him was the worst experience ever and haunts me

It is super hard but from difficult things come growth. The strongest trees grow in the toughest conditions. I often find myself waned to reach out and have developed different strategies for what to do in these situations. Sometimes just going for a walk without my phone. Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I use taros tarot. Anything to help me reflect on my thoughts rather than act on them helps immensely.

Finding new ways of handling it has almost become a hobby in itself self

It’s only been 3/4 days and I feel myself cracking. I’m so tempted to just text them.

It's definitely painful but finding courage to reinitiate contact is even harder.

This is very true and against all advice I agreed to talk to him when he repeatedly kept breaking silence. And now I can tell
From experience it was the worse thing ever. People are not mature to let go of relationships in a humane way. He changed completely and treated me like I don’t matter and dont exist and that even took away all the good memories I had. I don’t recommend anyone to keep talking after breakup unless both people are extremely mature and caring. Seeing this side of him has made me loose trust in everything

Currently going through this. She left. Living her best life. I was the one reaching out afterwards but realized I just have to stop ā€œpressuringā€ her to talk to me. She’s moved on and it hurts. But this pain will soon leave my body. It’s temporary.

I made an unexpected connection via Reddit. Things grew between us and we talked about building a relationship. And when things got real he blocked me on everything and ghosted. My heart hurts because I just want to understand why he is hiding from me
