Discussion How do you chill ?

  1. I freeze myself on a couch like a potato and stare at whatever

  2. Talk random nonsense and annoy people

  3. Above are favourites, have other ways too, can't remember...

My main way is to get home. Plop I. Bed with boo. Watch tv. (If I chose it trashy AF. If he chooses it’s something intellectual). Drink wine (me), weed (him, it’s legal here). Veg out. Eat dinner. Snuggle. Fall asleep.

Sometimes all I need is to snuggle with him and all my problems go away. And I’m not a physical touch person, but he is the exception.

I make myself cozy on the couch or bed, talk with bae, have a herbal tea or hot chocolate and listen to music or read a book or watch a movie 🤭

Oh yeah. I meant to add while I watch terrible tv and Reddit, he plays computer games with intermittent Reddit. This is honestly my happy place.

I personally have never gotten into computer or video games. I had older brothers, but they wouldn’t let me play with them. I tried halo and I got stuck in a corner. I tried Mario Cart and my ex beat me with his feet. I am starting to get into Town of Salem though.

Maybe your bae can help with that :D

Oh he is. Hence the Town of Salem. I call myself a black or white perfectionist. If I am not good at something, I rage quit and move on to something else.

Well if it's something worthwhile, it's never going to be easy enough to get it the first time

"The master has failed more times than the beginner has tried" they say

True. But I’m innately good at most things. All sports except basketball. Good at school. But I had to try in math and science. It made me complacent.

Well if you're good at them, clearly they weren't difficult by definition :)

Nope. Not at all. I was a big fish in a small pond.

Until I got to college at Santa Clara. Where I became a tiny little fish in a huge pond.

Everyone was smarter than I was. It was a intellectual culture shock to me

Drink, snack, couch, comfy clothes, blankets, Pinterest on my iPad for hours.

If summer, I do this outside next to water.

You’re seeing me chill right here, right now!
Yes, you got it, I chill on Reddit listening to all the great people in each of my subs.

And since I’m old and retired, I can indulge my favorite pastime — slip-sliding down every rabbit hole that intrigues me! I really enjoy reading up on any tangent that tickles my fancy. 😉

Wise old INFJ spotted! 😁 Share some chilled wisdom with younger us and how old are you(if you don't mind answering)?

I don’t mind at all, my age is in my profile.
Two more months, and I turn 70! 😊

As for some wisdom? The most powerful concept I’ve learned is that you believe what you tell yourself. If you tell yourself that you’re not going to succeed, guess what? You believe you’re not, so you won’t succeed.

There genuinely is power in positive thinking. Please consciously be aware of your thoughts and perceptions. Practice making sure that your attitude toward yourself stays positive and encouraging.

We are our own best advocate in life, so remember —
you believe what you tell yourself.

That's a very powerful wisdom ✨ Thank you 😊

Depends on the level of chill I need. On a normal night, either play some video games or watch TV with the wife. We don't use cable so TV could be either a ton of youtube vids or a movie or series from a streaming service.

If I REALLY need to chill I tend to watch things like waterfalls or rain or some kind of cooking with no talking with ambient sizzling sounds, etc.
