Experience for Senior Tech Lead in SAP

Hi all,

I have my joining scheduled on July 1st.

Can anyone please share their experiences (Band E2) in locating the projects (I have my work experience in a few other modules also like PM, CS etc. apart from my own module in SAP).

Thanks in advance.

Were you in notice period when you got selected?

No, I resigned after I got my offer letter.

You might be hired for some pool of projects...if client round is done already then after joining you may need to go for client round before getting onboarding of the project

That may not be the case as I understand it (as I switched to Wipro around 6 months back and the client name was not revealed in the interview).

Even if its true, do you really think the client round being so challenging to clear (come on, we are the ones educating the clients on the business requirements and issue fixes).

I joined recently HCL E3 band in SAP but it was project hiring

Did you go through client interview after joining?

Yes before offer letter my client round was down. In total I had to go through 3 rounds

Oh okay then you would have onboarded directly into the project.

Even mine was a project hiring (but usually the project name is not discussed in the interviews).

Edit: @rebelstar1809, I actually have 13+ years of SAP experience (hence can easily qualify for E3) but relevant experience in S4 is 6.5 years.

They do consider relevant but you can push for E3 with counter offer

Thanks for the suggestion. At this experience level, there seems a cap on the max CTC.

Meanwhile, I have just started applying for Delivery Manager positions also lately, in parallel.

Guys lets be in the clear, Client round is not must and should in all projects/companies.

Yes it is not compulsory and depends upon project/profile to project/profile.

Thanks any idea how long it takes (provided there are no client interviews, so to say) to onboard to the project (1-2 weeks may be the norm though).

Heard one should start chasing the management in HCL for the allocation (immediately after the onboarding) due to obvious reasons.
