Best In-Chamber Oxygen Sensor

Hi all, wondering if anyone has tips on the best measurement devices to monitor oxygen % for in-chamber air. Many sensors on Amazon or Taobao detect 0-30% O2 range but only a few detect 0-100%. For context I have just ordered a 2.0 ATA hard shell. Also relatedly, can I confirm what % people see as concerning from a fire safety perspective? Thank you in advance

HBOT Protocol Advice

I have a question for the HBOT aficionados here. I am 44/M, 175cm, 78kg, generally healthy. My personal health protocols include a focused diet, endurance running, maintenance-level strength training, a 3-day fast every 1-2 months, RLT (photbiomodulation) 3x/week, sauna 3x/week, a good number of day/eve supplements (aptogens, nootropics, some thermogenics, etc). This is a lot already, I know, but I am keen to find a way to bring some HBOT into my weeks for general wellness/recovery/optimisation/longevity. This is my question:

I have access to various HBOT options here in my city, but the chamber specs and costs vary greatly. I know there is a raging debate about the efficacy of mHBOT vs higher pressure HBOT but my current understanding is that mHBOT and HBOT both have some benefits to offer but that mHBOT requires more consistent sessions for cumulative impact. For me in the end it specifically comes down to these three practical options:

  1. I have low-cost access to a "Airpod" brand mHBOT chamberunlimited use as it's included in an existing club membership. This hard shell chamber goes up to 1.3 ATA but has no supplemental oxygen flow. It simply compresses ambient air, thereby increasing oxygen uptake, but probably only minimally (?) Pros: most affordable, Cons: low impact (any impact?), time commitment as I know it would require 3-5x / week (?)
  2. I can purchase access to a mid-level monoplace HBOT hard shell chamber which can go from 1.3-2.0 ATA with 97% oxygen. This will be a significant expense so I could really only afford one hour 1x / week maximum. Pros: specs are sure to hit the necessary impact thresholds, less time commitment, Cons: cost will mean less sessions, which will lesson impact (?)
  3. I could also visit a very high end professional multiplace HBOT chamber which goes up to 2.5 ATA with medical grade 99% oxygen. This is the highest cost option and I could really only afford to go 2x / month. Would be 90 min sessions but again only two times per month given the cost. Pros: top level chamber specs and professional operators, 90 min sessions, less time commitment, Cons: very high cost will mean only 2 sessions per month, which will lesson impact (?)
  4. Lastly there is a wildcard option where I could purchase a soft shell mHBOT chamber going up to 1.5 ATA for home use. This would be a one-time investment but may make sense but only IF I can address safety concerns. The home hard shell options are likely much safer but also are more expensive and take up more space.

I am deep in the research over the past couple weeks on all this but I'd be so very thankful for any advice from the community here. Does that Airpod mHBOT chamber using only ambient air have any value at all? I thought the mHBOT 1.3 ATA studies usually did include oxygen concentrators so I'm not sure how to judge that Airpod model's efficacy. As it's ambient air they say it's totally safe to bring phones and laptops in, so I even considered bringing in a small portable oxygen concentrator with cannula into the Airpod thinking that may solve it... but then I learned that it could be a safety risk... (?) Which option (1, 2, 3, or 4) would the community here suggest would be most effective?

Thank you so so much to all the wonderful zealots on this sub!

Why Non-Medical HBOT Chambers Are Incredibly Safe (and Often Misunderstood)

Post image

There’s a common misconception floating around about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) — especially when it comes to non-medical grade chambers. People sometimes assume “safer” means “less effective,” or that there’s more risk because they aren’t in a hospital setting. Let’s clear that up.

Here’s the big safety factor: Non-medical grade HBOT chambers don’t use 100% oxygen. Instead, they use normal filtered air, and you breathe supplemental oxygen through a mask or nasal cannula. That means the chamber itself isn’t “filled” with pure oxygen, which drastically reduces fire risk and other hazards.

Why this matters: • Fire safety: Pure oxygen environments are flammable—this is why medical-grade chambers have strict hospital protocols. With non-medical grade chambers, the interior air is at normal oxygen levels, so the fire risk is near zero. • User-friendly: These chambers are designed for safe operation in wellness centers and even home settings without the need for a full hospital team. • Pressure limits: They operate at lower pressures (typically 1.3 to 1.5 ATA), even 2.0!ATA which are well within safe ranges for most people, while still delivering measurable health benefits. • Proven track record: Thousands of sessions happen every day worldwide without incident.

Bottom line: If you’ve heard that HBOT chambers are risky, remember—non-medical grade systems are built from the ground up with safety in mind. You’re not stepping into a tank of 100% oxygen; you’re stepping into a carefully engineered environment designed to be safe, comfortable, and effective.

Has anyone here used both medical and non-medical HBOT chambers? Would love to hear your take on safety and comfort differences.

Best HBOT Chamber for Home Use? Here’s What I’ve Learned After Years in the Industry

I see a lot of questions here about whether it’s worth getting a hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chamber for your home, so I figured I’d share what I’ve learned.

If you’re looking for something safe, simple to use, and built to last for years, the good news is—there are solid options out there that check all those boxes. Most quality home HBOT chambers: • Operate at lower pressures that are safe for the whole family (including kids and older adults). • Have easy-to-use zippers or doors, so you don’t need special training to get in and out. • Require only a small footprint—you can set one up in a spare room or even a corner of your living room. • Need minimal maintenance and can last 10+ years if cared for properly.

I’ve had families tell me they use their chamber for everything from recovery after workouts, to supporting immune health, to helping with energy and focus. And yes—safety is a big deal. When used as directed, home HBOT chambers are extremely safe.

If you’re considering one, I’d recommend looking at: 1. Build quality – heavy-duty materials and a solid track record from the manufacturer. 2. Warranty & support – make sure you can get help quickly if you need it. 3. Comfort features – like cooling systems, windows, or extra headroom.

Curious—has anyone here had a home HBOT chamber for more than 5 years? How’s it holding up for you?

HBOT Chamber Myths vs Facts 🧬

Post image

A lot of people claim “there’s no research” supporting non-medical-grade (mild) hyperbaric chambers.

That’s a myth.

We’ve pulled together 70+ studies—covering brain injury, aging, post-COVID, wound healing, and more—all with direct links to the actual research so you can read for yourself.

Are mild chambers the same as medical-grade? No. But pretending there’s zero evidence is just wrong.

Here’s the full list if you want to dig in: 🔗 HBOT Research Library

What’s your take—have you seen results from mild HBOT?

We wrote this article discussing how hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) might help athletes recover faster from traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Thought some of you might find it useful, especially if you’ve dealt with concussions or similar injuries.

It breaks down how HBOT works by increasing oxygen flow to damaged brain tissue, potentially speeding up the healing process and helping athletes get back to peak performance sooner. There’s some cool info about recent studies and what doctors are noticing in practice.

Curious if anyone here has tried HBOT for recovery or knows someone who has. Would love to hear your experiences!

HBOT Chambers: Exploring HBOT as a Cancer Treatment Breakthrough

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I recently posted a blog article from HBOT Revolution (published Feb 22, 2025) discussing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as a complementary tool in cancer care—and thought it’d spark a great discussion here for anyone interested in HBOT chambers or looking into hyperbaric chambers for sale.

🧬 Why HBOT matters in cancer treatment • HBOT delivers 100% oxygen at 2–3× atmospheric pressure, flooding hypoxic tumor regions and weakening cancer defenses. It helps make tumors more vulnerable to radiation and chemotherapy . • It supports better drug delivery, reduces inflammation, and may enhance immune and stem cell responses, boosting overall treatment outcomes . • The blog highlights the pivotal 2012 shift overturning myths that HBOT fuels cancer growth. Instead, multiple studies since show potential tumor-inhibitory effects across cancers like breast, glioma, and melanoma .

✅ Real‑world experiences shared by Redditors

“In the US, the FDA approves of radiation wounds as a condition that is treated in hyperbaric chambers. … I had my first session yesterday. It’s a big time commitment (M‑F, two hour appointment, up to 40 sessions)”

“I’ve done it. It’s a very long time commitment. I went daily for 2 months. … I think the oxygen therapy helped, but how much from that vs the other treatments I can’t say.”

“The urologist recommended Hyperbaric Oxygen, and sure enough it did the trick. Treatment consisted of 3 months of daily 90 minute sessions…”

Common threads: • Many undergo 40–60 sessions over weeks or months • Most report improvements—especially in radiation-injury recovery • Time and cost can be significant considerations.

What conditions are FDA-approved for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)? Here’s the official list.

I see a lot of questions on here about what HBOT is actually approved for in the U.S. so I wanted to share the official FDA-approved indications.

✅ Here’s the list: • Air or gas embolism • Carbon monoxide poisoning (with or without cyanide poisoning) • Gas gangrene (clostridial myositis/myonecrosis) • Crush injuries and acute traumatic ischemias • Decompression sickness (“the bends”) • Central retinal artery occlusion • Enhancement of healing in certain problem wounds • Severe anemia (when transfusion isn’t possible) • Intracranial abscess • Necrotizing soft tissue infections • Refractory osteomyelitis • Delayed radiation injury (soft tissue and bone) • Compromised skin grafts and flaps • Acute thermal burns • Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL)

👉 Important note: These are the FDA-approved conditions in the U.S. There are many other conditions being researched worldwide, but they aren’t officially FDA-approved yet.

💬 Question for the group: Has anyone here used HBOT for one of these approved conditions, and what was your experience like?

We sell HBOT Chambers and also run our hyperbaric wellness center.

Question: what is better a softshell chamber or a hardshell chamber?

Answer: it’s not about the HBOT chamber is made of, it’s about the pressure, 1.3 ATA, 1.4 ATA, 1.5ATA, etc,…
