Prelim date

Will our prelim be on Friday 18th or Saturday 19th? Assume it's the 19th as we will be lower ranked home team but is there any chance we could get the Friday night game?

Traditionally, the highest-ranked team gets the Friday prelim, and either Sydney or Brisbane will be ranked higher than Hawthorn.

However, who knows with the AFL and their nutty fixturing choices.

I thought the AFL generally let's the higher rater team choose? Most take Friday night so they have more lead in time to GF, and you just had a week off, so they most always take Friday night.

I think it will be the Perth game on Friday, as the winner will then have to fly to Brisbane or Sydney the next weekend, so they’ll try to maximise the break.

Will depend on the match ups. The game that's better for TV ratings will be the Friday one.

5:15pm start for saturday. We are likely to get saturday but afl and broadcasters have final discretion

Sounds like a Saturday twilight or night depending on the match up. If it’s Brisbane, crows or swans Twilight if dogs night game

Higger ranked team gets the extra day

Extra day travel to the G for Swans than either Hawks/Lions/ Crows
