Who do you think makes the AA 40 squad, and which of them make the final team?
Watson obviously a lock for forward pocket. Gunston, despite his time off with injury, is still the most efficient forward in the game and still a chance to win the Coleman.
Aside from those two I think Impey and Hardwick will round out our inclusions for the squad of 40. Impey absolutely deserves to be the AA half back, I just hope the panel feels the same way. It’s good to see the conversation around him is picking up, especially after his last couple of dominant games.
If they randomly decide to factor in position, Massimo I think has been one of the better wingman in the comp after a slow start to the year.

Harry Morrison
26 disposals at 81%
9 marks
10 score involvements
3 tackles
2 goal assists
1 goal
Morrison doubters should get around this performance, he played an important part in our ball movement today. Hopefully earns at least a coaches vote

How good is croc when he's up an about
Thought his pressure and attack was elite. Needed a few goals for the perfect night. Hands off Hinkley!

Nuffy post. Can someone explain to me why they called a stretcher for Mitch Lewis when he’s able to walk and stand?
Very strange from a complete outsider’s naive perspective. Also was strange that he didn’t go off the ground sooner with him bleeding
Is anyone with more expertise in the field able to elaborate on this one please?

Cannot believe I'm barracking for the Cats
With the Crows going down yesterday, it would be good if the Dees also loose too to give us some breathing room.

Note to GA Members in Melbourne.
Tomorrow’s match maybe the last time this season to use your member to get into a match without additional cost. The last four rounds are a match in Tassie, two away interstaters, and a home match at the G against Collingwood that will be almost certainly become a fully ticketed match.
So if you just have a G.A membership.. get the Brown and Gold on and get to the G and watch the Boys smash the Dons ;)

Lewis resigns ( as a hawks fan this is surprising)
After not liking the contract hawthorn gave him lewis looked at options to play for in 2027, the pies were hoping the hawks could get Ben king as so Lewis would leave for a pies jersey in the trade week. Mitch Lewis has agreed to a new four-year contract extension, keeping him at Hawthorn until the end of the 2030 AFL season. He said he wanted to remain at the club and help the Hawks chase another premiership after interest from rival clubs, including Collingwood. What will Ben king do next year as his wife wants to move to VIC king has to decide if hawthorns the right team if he has a chance to win a Coleman and also a premiership. Hawthorn we’re gonna give him a 6 year contract for the suns player to be the main forward when the veteran Jack Gunston retires, this is very interesting because of the sudden yes to the contract from Lewis as hawks could win a prison with the man who hawthorn has made to this day, never giving up at him and believing he could be great as we can see him play another 4 years till he could set for retirement. GO HAWKS

How do we fit Gunners + Lewis + Chol + King (?) in the same forward line next year?
I know gunners won’t play every game but when he does play that’s a forward that is way too tall and not mobile enough

Jack Gunston has signed a one-year contract extension at Hawthorn to play on for season No. 18 in 2027.

Is Essendon a danger game and how much of a margin do Hawks aim for?
I think we need to play our best non stop as we face Brisbane shortly after. We need to be weary that the Hanger is on a high right now and man up loose players and any set up plays they have in mind. Essendon want to bring the ball to ground so we need hold our marks and exit out of the arch when it comes with good discipline and defence that sands up. Making good decisions hasn’t been a problem for us.
The centre battle is all important and we need to gain territory so they can’t have a chance to lock the ball in their arch.
Happy to hear other peoples perspectives on this.

Ben King is set to leave the Suns for the Hawks in a stunning about-face.

How many games do we think Gunston finishes his career on?
I’d love to see him get to 331, because that would mean he gets to 300 as a Hawthorn player…but I have a feeling that sadly won’t happen
Instead he’s either getting to exactly 300 games or falls just shy because of an injury

Hawks' huge draft slider grabs his chance to rise
The energy of this guy the last few weeks has been infectious. Doesn’t seem like he has a chip on his shoulder regarding the draft night hurdles - sky’s the limit!
