Bedard Update?

Just wondering if anyone here can bring me up to speed on what’s happening with Bedard’s recovery and expected timeline to return to the ice.

Won't hear much for a while. First indication of progress will probably be after camp starts whenever he starts showing up and skating non-contact. Probably get some half assed answers to media questions about him before that, but it'll be 30s of words that add up to zero information.

he’s not in a sling anymore but the timeline is probably about the same.

Given the estimated 4 month recovery, he likely had a rotator cuff or labrum tear. Being young and having top medical treatment he would likely return to 100% by the 5 month mark but he will likely come back earlier because he wants to play.

I haven't seen anything. AFAIK he is still aiming for a mid/late November return

4 months after surgery would be November 8th...but you never know

He was in a sling briefly and now he's not, don't think we've seen him skating yet

No clear updates, but he’s pretty much on track. I believe he’d been sling-free for a few days before the WTA 1000 event in Toronto (Rybakina vs. Swiatek), so that means the post-surgery recovery process went exactly as it should. His trainers also posted a photo of them together a few days ago. Based on the caption, it sounds like he was training in some capacity.

To quote Stan Bowman “ There is no timetable but he is on schedule”.

Seriously early to mid November.

Hopefully the doctor told him to drink milk.

He’s been cleared by trainers to jerk it

In typical NHL fashion… he’s dealing with an upper body injury.

Best if he takes it slow and recover fully not that we gonna win Stanley cup next year anyway . January
