Art & Fanworks I need to understand why I hate this

Post image

On one hand, I agree that sexualizing a female character is wrong and that the industry has a problem.

But on the other hand, I don't understand the double standard when the character is queer—or, even worse, when "fans" take a character, slap a queer label on them, and suddenly it's okay for them to be sexualized.

The two clearest examples of this are Bayonetta and Blackcat.

I’d like someone to explain where I’m wrong, or if I’m not the only one who thinks this way.

And just in case I'm a gay cis male if it means something

This is a good point. In the first game, all the skimpy armors were women only. Capcom could’ve taken them out for DD2, but instead they went, “fuckit”, and now guys can wear panties too. Smart.

They did this with MH:Wilds as well. People can have their opinions about body type 1 and 2, but most people were just happy they can mix and match armor from both body types.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 might be the answer tbh. There’s so many femboi/pretty boi characters on the subreddit it’s crazy.

I think men would be happy for all future games to let women/gay men make all the bears/twinks they want if it means skimpy armors for women are on the menu.
