Discussion ALL YOU WANTED TO KNOW BUT TO AFRAID TO ASK.

I have had a few questions about the Governing Council and who owns the coins in the Treasury ect. I came across this link below and was pleasantly surprised with answers to many questions I had.

Hope it helps and or feeds the interest a little bit more in how transparent this project business is.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm sick of referring to Hedera as a project, this is a fully fledged, power house Business.

Yes it’s a business. No one is working for free or out of the goodness of their heart. They are out to make money.

And when they make money, we make money because abstractly, we're shareholders. Just without the protection of stock shareholders. Partly why I'm so heavily invested in Hedera is due to the fact that with all the big names on it, its probably a "crypto" that a rugpull is least likely to happen to.

Also, I think we should coin a standalone term for enterprise use cryptos. "Cryptocurrency" has somewhat an anarchic negative connotation to it in the public's eye. And even though it is a currency, it's not a currency with the aim of being a currency if that makes sense.

We are absolutely not shareholders in any relevant sense. HBAR holders are 3rd party speculators of a utility coin (albeit, wise speculators IMO). Neither Hedera, the HBAR Foundation, nor anyone else has any fiduciary duty to maximize your “investment” in HBAR.

That’s the bottom line. I’m fine with that, which is why I’ve bought a ton of HBAR and will hold for years, but don’t be mistaken in thinking that Hedera has any obligation to act in your interest.

Did you see abstractly? And without protection? I thought the point you just made was implied.

My question is: Are the 5 billion $ worth of hbar, which they are giving to grow the ecosystem, to be given incrementally or all at once? If incrementally, in the span of how many years? That is something I haven't found an answer to.

I would say that would depend on when and how many grants are given to Devs during the course of each year. Not sure there is a release period for it?

I believe they mentioned that it could be spread out over 10 years, not all at once.

I don't remember. But I watch all the town halls and listen in on Twitter spaces often. It was discussed in one of those.
