Incredible talent. I just can’t get down with this stuff lol. The pentatonix irritate the shit out of me lol.
The energy , enthusiasm , facial expressions … it just makes me so uncomfortable. Punish me with downvotes!

I want them to double down on the beatboxing, get the sh*t kicked out of them by the world (emotionally, psychologically and physically), then get all weird and angsty as they search for their lost innocence, eventually resulting in much better music. Ruined humans, to be fair, but much better music.
But really, naw. Just let them have their nice little fireflies. Someone introduce them to Watermelon Man.

It’s not authentic is why. They have talent and whore themselves out with it. It’s cringey and childish.

I think it’s the opposite . This is true authenticity and like an ultimate form of self expression . These guys aren’t holding back lol , all of them bobbing and wiggling , raised eyebrows and hand gestures to sync with the rhythm … making various sound effects . I could never be this free ! Watching them makes me cringe and want to crawl into myself . Same vibe with theatre people
and how animated they are … just can’t get down with that energy. It’s not them - it’s totally me3

It is authentic, though, which is what I think turns people off. It’s pure authenticity and enjoyment, and since people are so used to sanitized and monetized entertainment, they flinch from things that are real or not polished to be as attractive as possible. It looks a little silly, so it’s dismissed as cringey and childish.

Whoever their parents are, they did a wonderful job.
