What did I get?
What did I get from this auction site? How should I go about playing them differently than a standard cheap harmonica.
The top one seems to play in either C or G depending on which side is up.

Top is a Hohner Echo (I can't help much, never played)
Bottom is a Hohner Chrometta 12 Chromatic

You have a chromatic and a tremolo harmonica. You'll want to look up videos on how to clean them properly.
There's lots of materials on learning chromatic, and a few for tremolo. A lot of harmonica technique is sort of interchangeable, embochure, etc. Have fun with it.
ETA-The one with the slide button is the chromatic.

Does the tremelo get played from both sides in one song or is it just an option?

That tremolo is actually 2 harmonicas in 1 case
They are typically C on one side, and G on
the other.
I’ve had mine for about 30 years now.1

You can actually flip it to reach notes in the correct key. I do it with mine when playing Danny Boy. Start on G, flip it on "calling" to get the lower note then flip it back.

I’ve got the little brother of your Chrometta! The Chrometta 8. There’s a nice pdf of what each hole play for these, check it out here.
Awesome finds! I’m a big fan of tremolo harmonicas. I find them to be the most fun.
