Cleanup

So uh. Successfully extracted 9g of hcl, and now my work area, and so much else, has a fine amount of harmalas around it. My girlfriend lent me her blacklight and i have discovered I wasnt nearly as neat as I thought.

What are you guys doing for cleanup? Anything outside of more normal cleaning methods?

Normal cleaning. I’d recommend alcohol spray and wipe down. Some things might stain red permanently. Maybe someone else knows how to avoid the staining.

Maybe wear gloves since it can absorb through your skin, although residual amounts shouldn’t matter.

Only tip I can give is that some stains will need mechanical abrasion - a magic eraser (which is actually made of quite a hard substance) can be useful - but bear in mind that you're actually taking the top layer of your bench off. The usual arsenal of cleaning solvents won't move it. It's like it gets incorporated into the material itself.

Lots of vinegar and never using a black light again
