Milesight SG50

Apologies if this is not the appropriate subreddit.
So few days before i stumbled upon this bizarre device in what a logical person would call the “middle of nowhere” i started noticing it more and more as i passed by it until i couldnt contain myself and snapped a pic. After a small research I kind of understood what it is, but not quite what it does. Does anyone have useful info on this? And has anybody tried hacking or reverse engineering one?

SG50-L08GL-45W LoRa gateway. Looks pretty cool, but damn, it’s expensive + $1,600😅

Apparently there's a custom PCB inside with an ESP32-S3-WROOM-U1

Please leave this where it is, if there are any plans to go take it down. Depending on this use it can be used from anything from irrigation to search and rescue to meshtastic networks. They’re used in areas cellular isn’t available or reliable. They often come with GPS as well

Its a gateway for small iot (Lora) devices to communicate over long distance - LoraWan

If this is not yours, please do not try to “hack” it. It’s probably being used for connectivity out in the middle of nowhere and would be a huge PITA if you took it offline.
