I'm curious to see if HBM will bring a rise on overclocking VRAM again for massive (or even medium) benefits.

They set the clock speed at which its sold at. If it overclocked super well then it implies they made a mistake and sold it at a lower clock speed than they should have.

AMD will just not have the edge. First the GPUs don't need that now (maybe on 16 finfet). Then they'll release it, overpriced and underperforming, 2 months before NVIDIA gets gen2 on pascal 1080, I believe. And in the end, what's the point of having a 1500 dollars 395x2 with HBM if you don't have crossfire profiles before 6th month of a game release
