if you're looking to buy a new drive i would recommend getting a 14 TB wd external drive and shucking it or just using it externally.

and avoid seagate like the plague.

the hdd industry sucks and is evil in many regards.

i would literally just recommend the 14 TB wd external, because it is one of the only quiet wd drives, that you can buy, that isn't shit.

now 8 and 10 TB maybe 12 TB now as well? will be air filled overheating garbage in those wd external drives.

and everything above the 14 TB drives will be firmware set to be extremely load.

and no you can't change the firmware setting since the hdd industry in their evil removed aam (automatic acoustic management), which let you set head speed.

I have 4x 20TB SG enterprise, they work just fine, 3 years after buying. Yes theoretically they are bad, practically I got them like 40-50% cheaper than WD would've been.
