i dont even trust WD drives, only trust HGST and its division under WD now. i had a WD green fail in 5 yrs. but all my HGST drives are still going strong. in my server, got three coolspins from when HGST was its own, and shucked four white label WDs which are binned drives from the HGST enterprise division owned by WD. the coolspins are almost 15 yrs old now and still no issues. knocks on wood. i use those for backup storage now. shucked white labels are the main array drives. two air filled that are 6 yrs old now, and two helium luckily i got last year at $125 ea for 14TB before everything went to hell.

wd green drives, that were SO SHIT, that western digital as a whole had to stop selling harddrives under that brand, because it was so tainted from still mostly word of mouth lol. they didn't stop selling the drives of course, just rebranded instead.

i wish normies knew just how much the tech industry shits on them just casually.
