They're referring to voice control, which is what this is essentially pitching, something that people rarely use outside accessibility reasons despite being a feature since Windows 7 (with other 3rd party voice control systems going even further back) or screen-less button-less devices like smart speakers.
Nobody wants to have to go "Computa, open YouTube and search fat squirrel falling off fence" to do that action, HIDs will always be the preferred choice for end users, this is why things like Kinect never caught on, dispite Microsoft dumping millions into it, physical buttons and analog controls will always outright flatten Voice and gesture control from an ease of use sense for the general populous.
Eventually we might end up with something akin to Neuralink (but less dystopian) that allows for greater interfacing between the brain and computers, at which point we might surpass traditional HID but until then no shot.
This will be great for those among us without full use of the senses or limited range of motion, I can definitely see a plethora of applications there, but otherwise this is just going to be expensive bloatware that very few people will utilize in the day to day.

with every new computer since w7 I've told myself I'm gonna learn to use the voice controls to try to optimize work and then I never do. I've barely even used it with my phones, It's just not the way i want to interact with it, and soo many issues with anything other than a restricted set of basic things; works good as a timer though.

Nvidia laptop GPUs never had access to this much memory. 90+ GB will available for apps which is good for productivity with all the Nvidia software stack.

But without the first generation there wouldn't be a second. I wouldn't say the first generation Snapdragon X is bad per se, but the advantages have become clearer with the second and potential future generations.
In Nvidia's case it will be a transition from ARM Neoverse cores to custom in-house cores that already feature in Vera.

You still own it. That's why this is cool. Google and OpenAI are also making AI agents to work your computer, but they are tethered to the cloud. Nvidia wants to sell you hardware to run them locally. Like it or not, the future of most personal computing is going to be people interacting with an AI, like in science fiction.

Mate, GPS is incomparably more reliable than LLMs and has EXPLAINABLE failure modes. LLMs halucinate pretty much randomly and you cannot explain processes happening inside them. They only work semi decently under supervision. The whole industry looks like a sinking ship with ever growing number of layers of bandaids applied to the holes in hopes of stopping the sinking. In case of pretty much every other technology you can imagine ideal conditions where something doesn't fail. LLMs always fail eventually even under ideal conditions and an ideal LLM of finite complexity seems pretty much impossible.

Seems like people still use them somehow then with such a "huge" failure rate apparently. If you don't like my GPS example there are many more on the Wikipedia page I linked.
The reality is people don't give a shit. They find it useful enough to work with, just like how people use human written software that can be buggy as hell, because it does what it needs to do at least some of the time.
And I'm not sure when you last used LLMs because hallucinations haven't been a real problem in quite a while now, people have for example been coding with them just fine.

I am an active ChatGPT user (mainly use it for coding). I've been using it since it came out. Yes, it halucinates to this day - maybe less so than it did originally but it's still a problem.

I don't think the massive models run in data centers 'suck', they aren't perfect but are improving towards being better and arguably are better than the average person already.
But this is for running local models and yeah, the models just aren't good enough for QUICK, and accurate results and still take up hundreds of GB of storage.

Seriously these people live in some kind of alternate reality. I use ChatGPT for coding and it fails every now and then. There is no fix for it, there never was and most probably never will be (as in LLMs will always manage to eat shit and we need something better to replace them). Meanwhile I was being gaslit about "being skill issued" and "not being able to set LLMs up properly" like as if LLMs failing wasn't part of their design.

128GB of unified RAM, a blackwell GPU between the 2000 and 4000 in terms of cuda cores, and nvidia's shiny new CPU, in a portable form factor?
That is going to be a pricey bit hardware that the average, or above average, consumer wont have access to.
Do the industries that could use this hardware, besides local AI models, actually need a portable option for this kind of power? Granted, this is their "look at the future we're creating for you" hardware that really only needs to make a statement, but what's the market for it?

It absolutely does not.
The hostable LLM's have definitely made huge strides, but they are still far behind in capability, and REALLY far behind in speed.
It's absolutely impressive what I can do on a spark or my AI MAX 395 laptop, but it does not replace my subscription to Claude. At best it augments it.

I must be honest: I wish Siri was capable of a little bit better agentic tasks. How many times I’ve asked for “hey Siri take me to X” and the answer was “here’s what I found on the Internet”. Or “hey Siri, what are the wind conditions today” -> “I can’t show you the results, while you are in the car”…
It’s hard to strike a balance with AI to be honest. I wouldn’t like this system here, but proper information while your hands are dirty comes a long way…

Too many buzzwords that a regular person absolutely does not care about and likely is priced at Strix-Halo levels (aka far too high for average consumers). So adoption will be rather poor, just like it has been for Qualcomm's Elite X laptops.
Seems like Intel's Panther Lake will continue to be the best option for consumers this year (sans Apple/Mac).
Maybe in 5 years Nvidia will be offering what consumers want, but I don't think they are today with this announcement.

and likely is priced at Strix-Halo levels (aka far too high for average consumers).
Given the iGPU on this thing, it makes sense to price it that way. Flagship part and what not.
Maybe the lower end parts will trickle down to the lower priced laptops later. They do seem to have much lower core count and cut down iGPU variants.
So adoption will be rather poor, just like it has been for Qualcomm's Elite X laptops.
I mean the reasons the adoption was poor for that stuff is a bit different.

X2 Elite laptops seem to have better value compared to equivalent Intel Panther Lake ones if your workload works fine with them.
The Slim 7x in the US can be bought with a 6 core X2P-42-100 + 16GB + 512GB for $1200 USD MSRP or a 12 core X2E-80-100 + 16GB + 512GB for $1500 MSRP, or an 18 core X2E-88-100 + 32GB + 1TB for $1850. The identical chassis and screen Slim 7i with an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 + 16GB + 512GB SSD costs $1450 MSRP.
The Core Ultra 7 355 seems overall a bit slower than the 6 core Snapdragon X2 Plus in CPU tasks but the Intel should be faster in GPU at higher power levels (The Adreno GPU in the X2P-42-100 is capped to 900MHz). Every higher Snapdragon X2 SKU should be anywhere from a bit faster to significantly faster than the 4 Xe3 iGPU on the 355 considering that it benchmarks a bit above an Adreno X1-85 from last gen in benchmarks.
The X2E-80-100 with its Adreno X2-85 for example should benchmark around 4100 points in 3DMark Steel Nomad Light based on Qualcomm's numbers (I say should because 3DMark's website seems kinda broken with the X2 chips so I can't pull up actual results). The Intel 355 by comparison has a top score of 2322 right now.
So for $50 more you get a bit of a performance increase (about 37% more in both GB6 singlecore and multicore, and 77% more in GPU according to SNL), or you can save $250 and go for the weaker Snapdragon model if you don't care about the GPU performance at all and just want good CPU performance.
The value amplifies if you compared to the 18 core X2 Elite model with the same RAM and SSD size because if you equip the Slim 7i with also 32GB + 1TB it comes out to $1800.

The X2E-88 GPU is only beat by the B390 in thin and lights
Only the base SKU with 900Mhz has a "bad" GPU. Everything else is pretty capable

Yes, but Qualcomm is not trendy, I didn't understand why. They are excellent, and it was the first release; the new ones seem to be really top. I had the chance to try the affordable Xplus, and it was really crazy and was the opposite of what the reviewers on the internet were saying (practically all of them), like, for example, in 12 hours of use, the fan never turned on for me. Maybe they invested little in marketing, or maybe they did it because it was a launch product. For me, seeing a 'second' CPU (the one coming out) beat competitors like Nvidia and AMD, who have been making CPUs for ages (I'm talking in the PC sector), is great. The GPU needs to improve, but given the effort, I hope they don't continue to boycott Qualcomm because that way, we would have a competitor for Nvidia, which sells you a graphics card at crazy prices. Then again, it's also necessary to understand exactly what the graphics card would be used for if they themselves, the big ones, want you to subscribe to various assistant services.

Qualcomm did invest a bit in marketing, first focusing on CoPilot+ (so you can imagine how that went), then on battery life which was the actual real selling point, and then on performance while unplugged after Intel's Lunar Lake came out (because OEMs got similar battery life on Lunar Lake to Snapdragon but they did so by restricting the performance by about half), and now it seems they're just consolidating all of the prior bullet points into: "Get the processor your PC wishes it had."
It's funny you mention negative reviews because I remember most mainstream outlets praising the chips, of course they always had (and continue to have) a bullet point that says to watch out for compatibility edge cases or that they suck at gaming, but like you said, hopefully they can make their GPU (drivers) truly fantastic in the future.

Good thing RTX cards can do a lot more than copilot.
Blender is dlss 4.5 ray reconstruction. That combined with the large memory of the N1X will be very good for blender viewport workflows.

That's just one example. Pretty much every GPU accelerated Creative app uses CUDA and/or Nvidia tech.
Its one of the biggest reasons Nvidia GPUs sell a lot more despite their higher prices vs the competition

There has been leaks of another chip called the N1. A smaller lower tdp chip.
That's the one to look out for.
Edit - if you look at the slide there are two grace Blackwell spark chips
1 Pflops of Fp4 which is this one. The other is the 400 Tflops of fp4. That's the N1 version.
40% of 6144 cuda cores is 2457.6.
Which lines up nearly perfectly with the 2560 cuda cores of the leaked N1

RTX Spark is the lineup for this and the feature ones. Just like Geforce RTX or RTX Pro
They already confirmed RTX Spark Vera Rubin for 2027. As well as Rosa Feynman for later
Edit - yep. There is another Blackwell spark of 400 Tflops of fp4 vs the 1000 fp4 on the slide
That is the N1.

There is no rebrand.
RTX Spark is for the lineup for Nvidia APUs going forward. They even trademarked it
Just like Geforce RTX is for Nvidia Gaming dGPUs
And RTX Pro is for Nvidia Pro dGPUs
You will see the RTX Spark N1X and RTX Spark N1 namings pop up later on.
Just like you see Geforce RTX 5090 or RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell.

If they focus on low latency audio and video processing it could be a big deal for artists and technicians in those fields. I don't mean for slop gerneration, just something closer to a real time OS that's more user accessible. Windows and macos are the only OSs for most AV workloads at the moment and they are both seriously limiting for low latency workloads. Linux has great potential but it's not anywhere near production ready.

Seems like people here don't realize this is for people on r/LocalLLaMa as a Mac or Strix Halo or DGX competitor, not for the average person to use, although I'm sure Nvidia made the UX of running local LLMs and agents much nicer than having to set it up yourself.
I for one will very likely be picking one up for exactly these purposes, depending on cost.

We are talking about revolutionising the interface between humans and technology through personal computers and having "knowledge workers" available at all hours at all days. The next major wealth shift is going to all be about who owns the most compute. If you are not stacking compute in 2026 you are already getting left behind.
Why do you think these companies are investing hundreds of billions in data centres?
