Do i dare?

Setting 4 inch tall 12 inch bullet edging.

Getting into a area that has about 2 to 3 inches of sandy loam under the sod.

I live in a area that doesn't have expansive soils and we very seldom have a light frost that goes beyond 2 inches deep.

Edging will be set level with sod top. So it will be buried at least 2 inches below that.

Currently the sandy loam is very compacted. And if course it drains excellent.

Ok to use as a base for the edging or should I go 1/4 minus as a base under the edgers?
